There is no Qur'anic justification for the expansion under the Rashidun caliphates as such. The first post-Muhammad military activity of the Rashidun was in subjugating rebels among the Arabs, like Aswad Ansi who say Muhammad's death as an opportunity to call himself a prophet succeeding Muhammad and seize control of the umma for himself. Abu Bakr probably intended the conquests outside of Arabia as security measure after the Ridda wars.

Also, people like anon don't know this but much of the Rashidun expansion wasn't so much military as it was political. Basically the perfect example of right place, right time, the surrounding powers like Byzantium, Egypt, and the Sassanians didn't have much favor with the people, particularly in the outskirts, and when this new army of people showed up with an egalitarian religion that promised equality of ethnicities and classes, even people that didn't convert saw them as favorable rulers to their current emperors. Not only did Muslims allow slaves and peasants of the old society to become truly free persons in society, but converts took part in the political process and non-converts simply had to pay taxes and not upset the order and they could do as they pleased. The radical, mystical monotheism also attracted people though, so Islam covered both personal and economic reasons for, if not conversion, the new order.
