Can a Knight/Warrior/Whatever wield a Two-handed sword while armed with a shield?
By shield I am not talking something ridiculously big like a Kite shield, but something smaller like a Heater shield. Would it provide any positive attributes from melee or projectile attacks?

Its also fucking stupid, technically you could also go into battle duel wielding halberds but you never see a knigger doing that.
'Greatswords' in general where a niche as fuck weapon, the drain on your stamina having a greatsword and a shield at once is not worth the questionable gain of doing so. Making a sword a bit larger and heavier doesn't magically let it go through armour, it would still remain pretty shit at dealing with armoured opponents like all swords.

It's possible but it would be unwieldy, either way be the time two handed swords became popular, shields were mostly on their way out.

The question really is why would you do it ?
You could do it, but in melee, with a greatsword, offense really is best defense, you have so much reach that a shield would just impair your big swings, thus giving you less offense and in fact not giving you that additional defense, since the swings effectively protects you.
As for projectiles, if used in warfare, you would probably use the greatsword as a shock troop and those had typically very high-end armor that would render you pretty much impervious to arrows and even big crossbows or musket balls. If you use a greatsword as a bodyguard, you'd probably have some level of armor plus being attacked by guns and missile weapons is much less likely.
A shield and a greatsword is too redundant really, as the big slashy reach is enough. If you want reach and shield, you'd have to go with rapier and buckler / rotella, but that's about it.

That's Grutte Pier's sword; a Frisian pirate/freedom fighter, who would board a ship and swing that big ol' thing around - cleaving bitches and taking names. He didn't really bother with an extra shield, because it wouldn't serve any purpose during a boarding action.
theres no reason to wield greatsword and a shield. you would have no speed and no stamina, might as well unscrew the pommel and throw it at the enemy
