In the 18th century one of the huge debates going on was whether luxuries and "modern" convenience was turning modernites into effeminate weaklings obsessed to an unhealthy degree with frivolities and outward status.
Why, when these trends have only accelerated, does no one even talk about the negative implications of convenience and material wealth anymore?
Because a life of comfort is better than one of discomfort
There's been countless tribes of primitives who championed "hard living" and they ALWAYS accepted their way of life sucked
We've been talking about our descent into decadence and depravity since the Roman Republic. Despite growing constantly weaker, more vulnerable, and effete, since those days, as evidence by written testimony, we're taller and live longer than ever. Curious.

in the western world men's t levels have consistently been going down for the past 50 years. We're increasingly getting diseases and medical conditions due to not getting enough physical activity and spending too much time indoors.
Whether the debates in the past had any merit or not, there is no doubt that we are becoming worse off physically, even if modern medicine may make our average life expectancy increase (largely by reducing death among infants).

Yet sports records continue to be broken. Melanoma has been around as long as there have been people, as well as diseases which decimated populations. The strongest appear to continue to get stronger.

sports records that were started in the 20th century. we have no idea of what the physical capabilities of pre-moderns were
and beyond that, that some are able to excel says nothing about the general state of mankind.

Yes. It's quite obvious.

We know the pre-moderns were short little people. Due to nutritional factors. Maybe athletically gifted short little people with really high "t levels"?

Specialist in bareknuckle boxing.
Absolute shit. Not even one of the golden age champs would even be able to have a pro fight now.

what are brock lesnar and kermit doing in that dystopian wasteland?
Because most people are weaklings obsessed to an unhealthy degree with frivolities, sexual pleasure and outward status and can't think of anything more important than this.

It's virtually impossible to be poor and moral at the same time.
