What always confused me about the Pact is the Soviet Union's invasion of eastern Poland. Why did the Allies not declare war on the Soviets after they did that? Wasn't Poland the reason they declared war on Germany?

the problem was twofold, the western allies did not like the soviets at all, but also the soviets invaded poland later at a time where the allies were all 'well fuck we can't possibly add to our already sizeable problems especially now that poland is lost'
still no love was lost because when it came to the winter war, the western allies were very close to getting involved somehow but ultimately a degree of pragmatism prevailed

Because the Allies only interest was to stop Germany. It was never about independence of Poland, or Holocaust or Democracy, as WWII and the immediate post-war history proves.

Glorious Union of Soviet Socialist Republics liberated western Belarus and Ukraine from catho-fascistic reactionary Polish government which was already leaving their citizens behind as they were running away to Romania. Without that intervention Hitler would conquer it all.

1. Polish government ran away before RKKA invaded.
2. Polish general literally ordered to not resist to RKKA.
3. Western Ukraine and Belarus had mostly non-Polish population, these lands was gained by Poland only in 1920.
4. And yes, Hitler would conquer it all. Germans literally requested Soviet invasion 2 or 3 times before RKKA invaded.

The Alliance did go longer than just being a non-aggression pact though.
They pretty much divided Eastern Europe into various zones of interest zones and at least Germany received material support from the other side.
