is anyone here studying law?

I'm toying with the idea since I'm studying math but hate all the career opportunities.

Don't do it, OP. You have so much to live for.

is there any chance of having a ~not~ soul sucking career in law?

I'm considering studying law. Will it ruin my life?

I have a question for any lawfags on this thread.

A couple of years back, as an undergrad, I was in this fiction writing club. A lot of my stories centered around this one character, and one day, I open my mail, to see that I had a pre-approved credit card..... Made out for my character.

Anyway, I threw it away, but I wonder, if I had filled it out, what crime would I have committed? I'm sure it would have been some kind of fraud.

I feel that a JD can't really hurt you unless you need excessive loans. Some law is more soul sucking than others but hell you can make a shit load of money.
>>
Law is oversatuarted right now not really the career it used to be.

That being said I would still do it for the prestige and the hope it bounces back like Dentistry did in the 80s.

I could see that happening. It's a bubble probably like education in general.

It's probably because humanities majors are in danger of being unemployable.

I would link the law school thread from something awful on here, but their paywall is up at the moment.

Be keenly aware of what you're doing. Do you want to be a normal lawyer? Do you want to deal with boring case and paper work for the entirety of your life? Do you want to have loans (Somewhere in the figure of $120k-$150k) that will take 15 years to pay off?

If so, go for it. If not, consider your options and be happy you have a degree that will get you a job. A mind-numbing analytical job perhaps, but not as shitty as having to represent Cletus against the county because he lied about his 2 acres being farmland to get quick free cash.
