>an imperial roman legion would destory a late medieval army
>>1039638
No, but an imperial roman legion would destroy an early medieval army.
No it wouldn't.
That's like saying Napoleon's army would beat a WW1 army.
>>1039638
Not a chance.
No way. The armor craftsmanship and sword quality was too fucking good. Plus early gunpowder firearms were already being used.
>>1039644
Rome fell to early medieval armies.
>>1039638
Define what you mean by a late medieval army. What country? What troops are used, and how many? Does it involve gunpowder units? Cannons? We know what a Roman Legion is and what it consists of, but its impossible to make a comparison without defining what you want by late medieval army.
>>1039687
Well those Roman armies were early medieval armies also.
>>1039709
If they could compete with the rest of them, it doesn't really matter. Hussars and Tercios would both destroy Legions.
I think OP was targeting the fact the Romeaboos seem to believe that Imperial legions could beat anything from samurai to marines.
>>1039879
They would beat Samurais.
They'd beat pretty much any less organised army. The average Roman soldier was better trained than a medieval Knight.

>That's like saying Napoleon's army would beat a WW1 army.
Fucking kek. No it isn't.
>>1039762
>Hussars and Tercios
This is the modern ages, asking for their troops back
>>1039919
>The average Roman soldier was better trained than a medieval Knight
No, medieval knights were from noble origin and took a lot of time on training, but they weren't really as noumerous as Roman soldier.

>an imperial roman legion would destory a late medieval army
If we consider reinansence armies, it depends of the general, in that age there were some inovative generals like Fernandez de Cordoba who would BTFO of Roman armies, and some generals who thought cavalry>all
>>1039919
Are you fucking high?
>>1039638
What about an Holy Roman Imperial one?
Medieval tactics pretty much revolved around charging your opponent and bashing him with infantry and cavalry. Very rarely did they perform the complex combat maneuvers a roman legion performed.
An imperial legion would maybe not wreck a late medieval army, due to longbows and plate armor. But they would absolutely destroy a high medieval one under a competent general.
ITT: Autists who can't tell that OP is angry with people claiming that Romans can defeat Late Medieval
>>1040620
>medieval combat was just a bunch of dumabsses clusterfucking each other with no regard for tactics.
When will this meme end?
>>1040620
>the complex combat maneuvers a roman legion performed.
lololololololololololololololololol
>>1040857
Excellent point, you've decisively won the argument.
