Russia takes modern day America's place. And instead of the west being the powerhouse the Eastern block is the center of the world.

*China never goes through a socialist shit-hole phase and resembles a bigger Japan.
*Japan probably adopts a great deal of Eastern Orthodox religion and Russian culture instead of Western.
*Australia is even more chinkafied.

We live in a dystopic world.

Ok, no memes.

First of, you need to make sure the Russians WILL be able to hold Alaska, the sign of gold may lead to the bongs to launch the Crimean War decades earlier. Also in 1800 connection between Russia proper and Alaska were pretty bad, it'll take a few decades to become reliable.

Second, industrialization isn't like a video game where you build a factory and "plim, we rich now :DDD" in 1800 Russia lacked the economic conditions that lead Western Europe to the Industrial Revolution (like widespread Serfdom)

And third, which reinforces #1 and #2, Russia lacks accessibility to external markets because >lol no ports.

So, you gave them A LOT of advantages, but for the Russians to dominate they have to overcome a lot of problems, can they succeed? Yes, but it wouldn't be certain.

Why would this happen ever?

>Fight a war with Britain and its allies
>Canada invades Alaska and occupies
>Russia lose continental war
>Russia cedes Alaska

Back to square one

Anon probably means they adopt it in the superficial manner the Japs adopt Christianity now. They'd love the ceremonies and all the ornamentation, but wouldn't give a damn about any of the real teachings. "Orthodox" churches in japan would be a great for japanese to socialize with Russians travelling on buisiness, as they do with americans and protestant churches now

>Russia is still run by an autocratic, inefficient tsar
>they have no way of using the petroleum resources as anything other than lamp fuel
>end up spending the 1800s like Spain spent the 1500s, nigger rich and throwing away all their resource wealth without accomplishing anything

Russian slavshits were too dumb to figure out anything. If anything, the Germanic Russian royalty and nobility were too busy keeping the mongoloid slavshit serfs under control.

So would Russia and China be the two big superpowers?

Russia still wouldn't have industrialized.

The problems they faced were that the peasants were honestly not even remotely considered human by the aristocracy. Nobody wanted that to change by introducing any upheavel of circumstance. Russia was also slower to increase agricultural production because of land laws.

Nicholas II (i think?) wanted to improve to status of the people enough to satisfy them into complacency and productivity but was unsuccessful.

Russia was deeply involved in Western Europe during the advent of industrialization and could have adopted all of the innovations observed there, they just didn't. There was no entrepeneural drive, no desire for change, and absolutely no compromise of the status quo by the aristocracy.

Southern and Eastern Europe suffered similarly for being dirt-poor European battle grounds and Ottoman holdings.

Global center of gravity shifts toward the pacific. Russo-Nipponese Empire dominate.
