Is morality an artificial construct or does it exist?

morality is a tool to make sure people obey laws and societal function. morality stems from laws, so it is dependent on them. early morality was based in religious ideas because laws could not be enforced to a high degree often. modern religion is the result of modernization of early religious ideas, and religious morality is based on modern religion nowadays.

What is your source for that?

i think that post is just an opinion, i don't know what source would have enough credibility to make it into a fact

It depends on which religion is correct.

> Artificial constructs doesn't exist
I've heard this stated a lot of times. It reminds me of people saying social constructs aren't real. Where do this stupidity stems from? Is there a youtube video circulating I don't know of?

If people believe in something enough to use it as a mean for a framework with force and verve, for all intents and purposes I would say it exists.

artificial things exist anon
It exists for sure, and there are senses in which it could be said accurately that it is "constructed" but I don't know what you mean by artificial.

>artificial construct
Isn't that redundant?

Yes and no.
Moral judgments themselves are emotional sentiments.
Whether we judge something to be right or wrong is the result of social conditioning.
The fact that we have a tendency to judge things as right or wrong, in relation to our emotional reaction to them, is a universal part of being human.
It exists subjectively to each individual

Yes, but It doesn't mean that morality isn't real.
Morality is a construct in the sense that it's our way of defining and solidifying the forces that guide our actions - in other words, it's a layer of abstraction over our biological instincts as a species.

Its subjective emotional beliefs.

The word artificial makes no sense in itself, because it always refers to objects that exist within the natural universe.
