Socialist movements aimed to unite all peoples and afford them the same rights as anyone else. Since Jews traditionally were money manipulators, bankers and so on they simply did not fall under the label of bourgeoisie. They didn't own any of the means of production. This favoured the Jews and allowed for easy over representation within these movements.
