His hair and eyes are of course, and brown eyes are quite dwarfed by blue eyes in Ireland (something like over 80% of them) but dark hair isn't too uncommon. Most Irish have regularly brown hair, like pic related Liam Neeson, Jamie Dornan, Michael Fassbender, Cilian Murphy, etc. You also got your blondes like Jack Gleeson, Saorsie Ronan, and Ronan Keating as seen in OP pic.
I was last in Ireland for a few weeks in 2009. They've got a wide variation from blond (usually not ash blond but darker or goldish) to red to all shades of brown and of course as we're discussing, some with straight black hair. Every country in Europe has this - even Norway and Finland, Germany, or Spain. Some just have more hair colours of different colours than others.
