It wouldn't make much of a difference in the grand scheme of things imo. Both leaders would still be paranoid, both would be leading explicitly anti-commie/anti-fascist nations, both would feel that Eastern and Central Europe belonged under the control of Berlin/Moscow. And Germany would still be at an extreme disadvantage compared to the USSR in terms of resources and manpower.
Although I wonder if a guy with Hitler's personality could even rise to power in the USSR. Mobilizing the people didn't mean much there, what mattered was knowing your way around an established party hierarchy. Same goes for Stalin in Germany. In Germany, it was all about making grand speeches and mobilizing stupid working class people, not really Stalin's style. Also, how the hell is an Armenian going to lead a German nationalist party?

i think the only interesting thought experiment from this is based on if you think that these individuals held the immense individual power that western media pretends they did. if they did, Stalin's incredible demonstrated talent at industrialization would have made Germany even greater of a power, and it would be likely that Germany would have been able to help agitate and support communist revolutions in France, Spain, Greece, etc. since they would have come to great power sooner than the USSR. i also don't think that Stalin would have signed a peace pact with Germany if he had had the military and resource advantage. Hitler only ever did that cause he was already fighting a war on a western front, something I don't think Stalin would have necessarily instigated directly by invading another fucking country for no reason.

I think this whole idea is a load of bullshit. Stalin alone could have been brilliant at planning the industrialization of a country (even though he almost certainly had advisers), but the methods he used in the USSR simply wouldn't work in Germany.

True, I think Stalin wouldn't have attacked first. Hell, given how paranoid he was I'm not sure he would have even invaded Poland. He might have tried to improve ties with Britain and France in the hope that they would help him fight the "communist menace" when Hitler inevitably attacked (assuming that Hitler's fanatical German nationalism has been replaced by a fanatical devotion to Socialism in this scenario).

Germany was already inustrial nation, with skilled workers when USSR was a half feuda agrarian country.
Don't buy meme that Stalin controled everything. Local Party have most control especially in more distant teritores and republics.
On the other hand Salin would gather skilled cadre and purge party things that Hitler never did.

I'm not sure that purging the party on that scale could have worked, though. The Nazi Party was dependent on the cooperation of the old officer class (even though he hated them and wanted them eliminated in the end) and many upper class businessmen. Stalin would have found it much more difficult to enact large scale purges without provoking even more assassination attempts than Hitler had to deal with in real life. He probably would have done a much better job of organizing the Nazi Party, bureaucratic politics was what he was best at.

The assasinations happen because there weren't purges. Also it would be on smaller scale.
The Soviet Party and Army was full of former revolutionares ad many of them were simply not qualified for any commanding position(criminals, illiterat, uneducated, greedy and corrupted).
Also Stalin would simplify organizations. Nazi Geramany was a total mess.
