I mean think about it, he fought through the Civil War, lived through the Wild West times, the Industrial Revolution at the turn of the century, and saw the inventions of radios, televisions, cars, airplanes, tanks, jets, and nuclear weapons.

There's loads of recorded testimony about the holocaust on yad vashem, pretty good stuff.

It's pretty great. Think of all the lives that have been saved because it just takes a 30-second phone call to get medical assistance in an emergency. Or how much easier it is to share ideas with people thousands of miles away from you.
