ITT: It's 15:00, Sunday 18th June, 1815. The Battle of Waterloo has commenced and you are in charge of the French forces. Armed with the knowledge of whats about to happen, what do you do to win the battle?
>chase and destroy the Prussians after Ligny
>not send d'Erlon to get lost fucking twice
>not order Ney's retarded cavalry charge
Considering the odds they did pretty fucking good. I mean we could make a tactical change or two, but none of us would be able to organize the men or handle the logistics.
Honestly, Napoleon should have simply destroyed Prussia when he had the chance. He wanted to pull an Alexander pardoning Porus. It ignores the fact that it's a completely different situation.

Kill myself once I realise I'm a useless frog.

What does /his/ think about this? I personally didn`t see a hole in his logic.
>lindybeige
Every other video I've watched is full of strawmen, so I highly doubt I'm going to spend 20 minutes on another one of his videos. Care to summarize his arguments?
>>1391917
hmmm, I will do my best.
An american officer did a survey with WW2 veterans and found out that a small percentage (2%) of soldiers shot to kill the enemy, the army took notice, used conditioned reflex training to increase that number up to 95%.
Recently the styles of his videos have changed, maybe watch the first minute of this one is worth it
>>1391889
It's ridiuclous. History is full of people killing people very easily and the modern world too.
I just fucking knew he would eventually come out with this video, just because its such a contrary view point to the mainstream that he'd have to do it even if its bullshit
Who was right?

Anyone know what this is, found in a Manor House garden underground
has a stamp on the top but inelligible
apart from made in England
is hollow and is made of clay (I think)
any clue what this could be?
inkwell
it's hollow all the way through like a doughnut
Fleshlight
Would you rather live in the High Middle Ages or the Renaissance Era?
Hadrian's Rome
Renaissance
I need that Greco-Roman in my life, even if it's just idealized wankery
Rennaissance, more mercenary groups. Plus the Italian wars to take part in.
Are you an emergentist or a proccesser?
is that putin :o
>>1391294
I'll have to say emergentist because processor doesn't give any Google results.
>dualism
The world is will to power, and nothing else besides!
Anthropologists of /his/, riddle me this: Are differences in body hair between populations more a product of environmental pressures or more a product of sexual selection. I've heard it said that Amerindians have less body hair to dissipate heat, but if body hair is meant to keep us warm, why do men of the harrier races grow so much more of it?
If it is mainly sexual selection, as I suspect, then what do you think made the women of some peoples choose harryen while the women of other peoples chose smooth men?
Women didn't choose hairy men those cultures just enslaved and used women like chattel
>>1391221
Almost all cultures did. In fact, I can't think of one that didn't.
>>1391221
>>1391226
That's very interesting. I would not have thought of that. I guess that's why I'm the geneticist and you're the anthropologists!
So are you suggesting that many, or Eve most male secondary sexual characteristics such as musculature, broad shoulders, and height might actually be adaptations to dominate women?
Was Turkish occupation really THIS bad? Surely there was some benefit, somewhere...
>>1391139
>twieled turk
>>1391139
>places that literally have never had any pre-modern contact with turkic peoples use it as a historic insult
Seems legit.
>>1391173
The only place fitting in on "never had any pre-modern contact" is possibly Japan, and they got the Turaics who claim Japenese is related to Turkish.
Why is it that ancient humans seem to have a much higher capacity for violence than people nowadays? people still do some heinous things nowadays but from around the bronze age to the end of the middle ages people were on a whole different level.
Was it a lack of empathy? "just because"?
>>1390299
More of a pride thing
There's a whole lot less of a need to
Not to mention law is easier to enforce and our general code of ethics is taught and practiced from an early age
>>1390299
Are we talking about developed nations here? If so the answer is simple enough, there's more then enough food to go around.
Has real democracy ever been tried?
>>1389247
wtf is real democracy?
>>1389256
Its similar to a true Scotsman

/his/ honest opinion about Dan Carlin's "HARDCORE HISTORY" ?.
> its a "what does /his/ think of Dan Carlin" episode
>>1394864
My honest opinion is that this entire topic has been done hundreds of times on /his/ and this is a stale question.

what's your favorite museum? i'm starting to think about vacations, and generally thoroughly enjoy spending a couple of days in local museums.
i live a few blocks from pic related, and love it
All modern art ones
I live on Long Island. I fucking love the Met. Louvre was pretty great when I visited a few years ago (minus all the North Africans)

Almost all of the museums in Copenhagen.
If you genuinly like museums, go to CPH.
I was there last summer, and the longest I ever had to bycycle/walk between the museums were 30 mins. And most of the museums are free, so you can just walk right in.
And the others are genuinly interested in getting people to have a good experience and get a bit more cultural, so they won't overcharge you + if you have a student ID you can usually get 50% off.
Ps. One of the best modern art museum,...

Hey fuck swords get yourself one of these instead. It's interesting to note that the axe head is getting progressively smaller were halberds used predominantly as stabbing weapons so the blacksmiths decided to marginalize the axe since no one used it anyway?
And fuck every one handed weapon too by the way.
Well sure, if I'm going to battlefield or a duel and I can only choose a sword or a polearm, the latter is the better choice. But why not both? A sword is easy to carry on your side and can be useful when your enemy gets too close or you lose your polearm.

Is Satan evil or simple an angel of God used by God as a test of our will while we're on earth?
The book of job shows that Satan cannot do anything without Gods permission
And it's is shown that angels have no free will
Issiah 45:7 says that he "create(s) evil"
Augustine says that Satan wouldn't hesitate a bit to kill us all if he only had a free hand from God. God is the one keeping him in check. Thus the only option left for Satan is to try to tempt you and deceive you into becoming his follower. In this way he pushes you away from God and hurls you into your own damnation. You have a choice to give in to his temptations or not.
Be sure that God would never join forces with his own fallen angel in order to test you. Also be sure that no evil can come from God, as he is the ultimate Good. Where there is lack of God, evil emerges.
Ok then,
your question is inherently flawed and should be a reason we look pass the beliefs of a 5000 year old desert people and move on to a logical atheist society
>>1394585
>logical atheist society
>not even just saying "secular" and leaving it at that
