The Tokugawa shogunate saw a long period of isolation and progress in terms of culture and civic administration.
The Toyotomi wanted to invade China and Korea.
But how would things have been if other clans had complete control over Japan?
How different would Japanese history be if say, clans like the Oda, the Takeda, the Mori or the Shimizu managed to win the Sengoku Jidai and establish their own shogunate? What decisions, actions and reforms would each of those great clans take?
thats impossible to say, faggot
Even with Nobunaga so close to conquering Japan before he was backstabbed we have no way of knowing what he would have done after he did so.
Even less so with other great clans since they rarely showed that much foresight, and its even more silly to assume that the heirs of the current ruler would take a unified country in the same direction as their predecessor.
Ah yes, who could forget the great clan of Portugal.
Shimazu would've instantly made japan into what the meiji empire was. Seeing as the satsuma province was where the emperor gained most of his support. And most of the high ranking imperial officers in the Bõshin War were shimazu samurai

What caused the Mycenaean collapse
So was this a complete US propaganda film? I liked the movie, but, if you step back and think about it, the entire movie is the glorification of a failed US operation.
Also what are some legitimate hidden propaganda films today? The Green Beret, IP man, and Braveheart come to mind.
any movie made with the express collaboration of the armed forces is propaganda, since they won't collaborate unless the message is reasonably pro military and nationalistic. the US armed forces are famed for this, but i suspect any armed services whose tanks n' shit have been asked for by a production company will be equally keen to see a script and veto any anti-military and/or subversive messages before allowing collaboration. the only exception i can think of offhand was the phillipines and their collaboration...

Hey guys I have this annoying paper I have to write. I have to choose a historical event and write about it using only primary sources from the period of the event. And the event has to be short like a week long or less. And it can only be something after the French Revolution.
How the fuck did anyone get up here let alone build a church?
What do you guys know about Katskhi?
What's your opinion on Dan Carlin? Is he a meme historian or is it actually good?
I need some facts that portray Cherokee Indians in a negative light for a rebuttal I'm forming. Any notes for me?
In all cases they seem to be based af with thier fashion sense desu
Am I dumb? I honestly, earnestly have tried to force my way through Sein und Zeit, but I cannot comprehend the majority of it.
There's nothing to comprehend there. Academic philosophers want tenure. They don't produce anything and seek to suck the wealth out of the more productive members of society via public jobs. They need to write in an obscure fashion in order to hide from society the paucity and vacuousness of their ideas, otherwise society might begin to question why do we pay them a salary int he first place, instead of having them do something more useful and dignified such as flipping burguers or lifting and carrying stones.
Why did the Assyrian civilisation collapse?
It was actually a coalition of Babylonian and Median armies that toppled the Assyrians.
Too oppressive, extremely heavy handed policies even by the general standards of the Near East at the time. Uprisings, rebellions, and revolts were a constant thing across the territories and provinces of their empire that continued to strain their manpower.
To what degree does capitalism influence out sexual mores? Could it be said that government austerity programs lead to a breakdown in traditional structures, allowing for commercialist views of sex as a disposable commodity to arise?
Just compare the purely hedonistic sexual dynamics of the 80s to the attitudes of the 1960s. While both eras saw a culture that celebrated promiscuity, in the 60s it happened in the name of love, as hippie communes saw sex as not simple hedonism, but a means for procreation and human connection. In the 80s, the emotional value of sex had...

The Sexual Revolution happened due to the World Wars creating a lose of faith in Traditions and The Wealth that the American People enjoyed during the 1950's
Also because Protestant men are promiscuous morons which eventually influenced their women
Not bad O.P., but the commodification of sex goes back to prehistory. Even penguins will trade shiny rocks for sexual favours. I don't think the commodification of sexuality is unique to capitalism, communism, or any other type of social-political-economic order.
Personally I lament the loss of actual human relations through digital media though, the brothel beats pornhub.com any day of the week.
Why was Song Dynasty China so GOAT?
>Civilization that accepted anyone who subscribed to Chinese culture as "Chinese." even if he was a red-haired Iranic cunt.
T. Turkic General in Chinese army who totally wont betray you.
>"There exists another history, more absurd [ridicule] than the history of Rome since the time of Tacitus: it is the history of Byzantium. This worthless collection contains nothing but declamations and miracles. It is a disgrace to the human mind."
He can't keep getting away with this
Redpill me on Quetzalcoatl? He was described as a bearded white man who taught the Aztecs many things? Did whites influence many cultures that we did not know they had? I also read about blonde haired people in Peru I think.
Ignoring capitalism and class based societies, how would a fascist and communist state work? By assuming the economic model of communism while having the nationalistic and complete loyalty to the state and it's leader?
Pic mostly related.
Fascism runs on aggressive expansion until it no longer has other countries to make war against, or exhausts all man-power via war and genocide, whichever comes first.
There is no state in communism, people simply freely associate with each other without the economic having a place in that association.
