so i think we can all agree pic related best president
Pretty much, yeah
Top-brass military generals (that achieved their position through actual meritocracy) and have been through times of wars always make for the best leaders of countries regardless of time period or system of governance.
>>1394575
nah. ulysses s. grant was a piece of shit and andrew jackson wasn't great either.
eisenhower was good though.
>>1394574
Sir I'm sorry to say that you've made a mistake. You meant to post a picture of Bill "the economy stupid" Clinton, but your computer has apparently made some error.
Is a place like 4chan detrimental to the mind and its ability to learn?
>Constant insulting
>bias opinions
>use of made up internet slang
Do you guys feel like you are on the same threads every day for the past couple of years or no?
Do you guys think people actually come on here to discuss religious ideas?
Two people arguing, both sides just end up with the same opinion just stronger.
>>1393792
Fuck you bitch, I'm a lawyer!
>>1393792
Animosity, and free speech are some of the best aspects of 4chan, but so many people abuse them.
Great concepts wasted, because humans are scum.
>>1394054
They're not great concepts if they work theoretically and not practically. Great concepts must consider the fact that humans are scum
On D-Day, why didn't allied warships bombard the beachhead with white phosphorus rounds to create a smokescreen for the landing infantry?
>>1396408
because then you couldnt go on the beach?
The plan was to bombard the beaches with HE to outright kill the defenders.
This worked for some beaches, but the bombardment on Omaha was ineffective due to Navy weenies being unwilling to get close enough to the shore.
>>1396462
I know they tried outright annihilating the bunkers, but when that failed why not just drop an assload of Willie Pete and smoke them out? Wouldn't that save a ton of lives?
Anyone else fap to /his/ paintings?
>>1396395
When I was younger, I imagine I was these boys fucking those women to submission and pregnancy before enslaving them. I also fapped to plump women and horse paintings. It's how I developed my big butt and milf fetishes and how I got into straight shota and MLP. So, which /his/ paintings do/did you fap to?
>>1396403
Thank you for the story.
>>1396426
You're welcome :) What's your story?

>>1396236
this thread discusses a different topic
Would Russia still be shit today if the revolutions hadn't succeeded?
>>1396153
If there were no revolutions and Russia still had a Czar, then yes.
If there were no revolutions but Russia eventually became a democracy, then maybe
If russia had the one democratic socialist revolution, and only that one, then probably no.
Yes.
Yes, it is a Russia after all.
What are you meant to do with your life?
To put a more historical slant on it, what did people do in their spare time in the past?
I spend most of my time shitposting on 4chan, playing vidya, and watching religious debates on Youtube. There's probably more to life than this but I can't quite figure out what. Furthermore this kind of time wasting wasn't possible in the past, so what did they do? Did the Romans shitpost in the real life forvm? Did they just not have spare time?
I think this is an area where philosophy is lacking. We can argue...

Eat. Sleep. Maybe have sex. Perhaps even reproduce. Maybe get really good at something that you'll be remembered for it (unlikely given your statistically guaranteed to be another boring average schlub). Count yourself lucky that unlike 99% of your ancestors you have the time and comfort to ponder such questions.
>>1395954
>What are you meant to do with your life?
/his/ has established that the meaning of life is to complain about /pol/
>>1395954
from my experience youre suposed to perform the functions youre given
What did the Austrian-Hungarian Empire do during ww1? I remember back in high school that we just learned that they started WW1, but then it became Germany vs the world.
>>1395576
They beat up Serbia (eventually) and then did little of effect.
They spent most of their war effort on the Eastern Front, usually losing to the Russians and needing the Germans to bail them out. They sent a few large siege artillery pieces west, IIRC.
They also fought the Italians up around the Alps, in a front that really didn't move much at all.
I think they also had some submarine action in the Med, but I don't know about that theater too well.
this >>1395655
Plus they suffered a lot of nationalist insurrections that eventually tore them apart. This was mostly down to three things:
>the entente governments supported governments-in-exile of all the nations of the empire, even the ones that did not have popular mandates from their own people
>Slavs on the eastern front did not like fighting other Slavs to further a German cause
and obviously the good old extremist Balkan nationalism that we all know and love.
>>1395576
they fought the italians a lot
What was it like living in the Soviet Union? Sounds fucking awful. How accurate is this btw?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hdh0ekN4Y50
Better than living in the countries that came after it.
Also, cold war era reports from the greatest enemy of the Soviet Union aren't exactly accurate.
>>1395506
Sometimes your enemy is the most honest. I'd trust a contemporary American professor before I would have trusted a contemporary Soviet professor desu
>>1395521
No.
That's like saying that North Korean reports about South Korea are because "Sometimes your enemy is the most honest"
Which country was the biggest JUST of WW1 and why was it Russia?
>>1395269
Russia definitely, but the Ottoman Empire and the Austro-Hungarian Empire come in as close seconds.
>>1395269
Italy.
>>1395269
Italy, no doubt about it, any other answer is wrong.
they changed sides like 4 times
I haven't posted here since /his/ first started. Nice to see that it hasn't turned into /pol/ 2.0 against all expectations. I'm amazed to be honest.
Err to keep this on topic and avoid a ban why is it that in 1870 blacks were allowed to vote in South Africa but in 1970 they weren't?
>>1395105
Certain topics derail fast tho
>>1395105
different country, and different people
Question for people who know about SA. What about the considerable minorities of indians malays and mixed/colored people. were they allowed to vote?
>>1395105
>it hasn't turned into /pol/ 2.0
Welcome to the Salty Spitoon, how Ãœbermensch are you?
I'm not.
>>1395047
I'm not either
I'm so ubermensch I'm going to notify my state's civil rights commission and get this place shut down for racial discrimination.
>Dieu et Mon Droit
What did they mean by this?
Also general monarchy thread

>Dieu et Mon Droit
God and my right
Crusoe that shit next time
Also, does a monarchy cost or create money?
>>1395045
The mints (owned by the monarchy) create money, the monarchy collects money to fund the military and all other things they own. And themselves obviously.
Why did Amedeo Avogadro look like such an ayylmao?
>>1394710
because he preferred swords over axes
When challenged, he would duel with a sword
Will they be looked at with reverence, in the same strain of Persia, China and Rome? Or with the controversial distaste of the Ottomans? Or will they be remembered as a footnote when they're stomped out of their meagre 400 year existence
>>1394655
>mentioning the usa in the same breath as persia, china, rome or the ottomans
