Altruist or Opportunist?
He was a supersoldier sent back in time by the late-21st century neo-Soviet revolutionaries to ensure the collapse of the Russian Empire.

Historically, why was Florida settled by colonial powers? Even with no real strategic or economic value?
>controlling the Caribbean and therefor the lines of communication to Central America is worthless
lolno

This. Coastal forts were essential.
But why settlers spread out into the swamps and plains of the Turd Peninsula is puzzling.
Florida and Alabama (west florida) were Spanish colonies. And for the most part played a major economic strategic point for the rest of the other spanish colonies and former Spanish colonies. There were transportation treaties set up using these areas as no-man's land. Basically anglo-americans promised the spanish-americans a cheaper trade to europe and asia. However the didn't keep their word and instead it ravaged their trade. The legend is that at night the anglos would go around dressed as the spanish during festivities and kill the spanish colonialists. Many...

I'm toying with the idea since I'm studying math but hate all the career opportunities.

What was your school history education like?
Write a history curriculum to be taught from the first year of high school to the last.
>>1041899
Well I think no more than one year should be fully dedicated to your own country's history. There's way too much ancient and world history to cover.
You know you can tell a poster is still pupae or larvae when they post about high school
It's a completely irrelevant and forgettable time in most peoples' lives, psychology babble about a "developmental phase" be damned.
>>1041938
I'm 23 and doing history at university.
High School will be most peoples only foray into history. So it's important that they get taught the right things, lest they will have no idea of the progress or human, or where they stand in relation to it. I have met people who think we've had cars for 1000 years, and someone once said the Romans existed 20,000 years ago. Basic shit like this can't be excused.

it's odd, really. the irish are so close to the bongs, yet they did not seem to develop a "salty loser gene" or an "incapability for combat" gene like their inbred, crooked tooth bongfriends did.

No, it's AT LEAST 7000 dead.
Augustine was a pervert who infected Catholicism with guilt-obsessed ideologies.
Imagine what the Catholic Church could have been if it had listened to Pelagius.

Tell me about the Iranian revolution and Iraq-Iran war era. All my exposure to it has been off film and I'm fairly ignorant, however as far as I've heard movies like Persepolis have a bunch of inaccuracies and it would be obvious that the West would have an anti-Iran bias. Would you say things went for the better or for the worse? Was the Iranian revolution really that popular, and the installment of the Ayatollah something the majority of Iranians wanted?
some ways better, some ways worse
Under the shah, despite the heavy investment from the west and the industrialization, many Iranians remained poor. Following the revolution, despite the fact that political and personal liberties freedoms were just as much if not more severely restricted as before, iran has surprisingly been able to build up its industries and economy to be on par or even better than what the shah was. more people are educated now then under the Shah and despite western embargoes, Iran doesn't really seem to slow down, unlike cuba or north korea....

Has anyone else read this? It's a comprehensive account of the African countries post-independence.

I've read the first 50 pages, my copy is about 10 feet away from me, it's pretty good stuff. What's Meredith's background, beyond living in Africa?

Anglican, Lutheran or Baptist? Based on my research they seem to be the best three but which one out of those should I join?
cringe thread?
>>1041368
You should join whichever you agree with theologically you fucking idiot. What are you asking 4chan?
OP here
I'm inclined to go with Baptist but I get the impression that they're a bit lightweight. Some traditions should be followed, like fasting for instance.
I basically want a denomination that believes in scripture alone but also follows the traditions taught in the Bible and does not take the Bible 100% literally
Hey, /his/. What do you think is the best way to do internet research for a history paper? I'm a little lost. It's on the crusades, if that helps.

Kill yourself.

I think about it everyday but if having nothing to lose anyway at least trying to be the best you can is way better considering the fall of the western world.
>>1040459
Eh, where do you even get the idea that there is that kind of spectrum of potentiality in 'you', there's no evidence to support such a notion.
So Charles X was pretty much the last legitimate leader France had, right? The July Monarchy and Second Empire were Freemason puppet states, as were the following Republics (with the exception of the Vichy Regime).
>>1040429
Pretty much.
>Freemason puppet states
I don't think you know what that means.
The Fifth republic is definately not legitimate legally. The French republics have all been complete shit.
The Bonaparte Empire and Vichy France seem like the only good government they've had since the satanic freemason revolution.
France never had a legitimate leader, it's monarchy has always been shit, they never respected the rights of the French people and were always trying to expand the power of the monarchy at the expense of the aristocracy, the Church and the guilds.
