Was wondering, was Caesar actually raped by a guy/kid?
Julius Caesar was shit on in the press for being the "queen of Bithynia", whether or not he was anally penetrated is something for a detective.
But no, the modern spartacus is about 9000% bullshit
Sorry is this board isnt the place for this thread, but I think maybe you guys can help.
I just bought an illustrated leaf from XIV century in a garage sale, about $ 10. So guys tell me, are those things as expensive as $10, or did the girl who sold it to me scam me. I glued the leaf on my room, it's not like I'm taking it back to that bitch, but still i want to know. She was kind of hot though.
It's a little too much imo
Is Lord Blackburn not the best thing to come out of Scotland?
Made up bullshit>Physical laws? I don't think so Jim.
What did he mean by this?
He was talking about the """""theory""""" of the forms.
Which basically says that reality is an imperfect reflection of some ontological perfect form of a concept like shadows on the wall of a cave.
This is what Plato actually believes.
Why do Marxists make such great historiographers?
Isn't it funny how socialist anarchists always make fun of ancaps? I think it's because anarchocapitalism is the only ideology more stupid that socialism.
I think there's a general stupidity with anarchy, because states will naturally form in a power vacuum, since there's simply a tendency to do so.
The thing with socialist anarchy is you can barely justify it by saying people would not accept someone trying to take power and would band together to nip it in the bud. Barely. That's assuming everyone is on the same page.
With ancap, the mentality is that it's perfectly acceptable for someone to start consolidating power. The line is drawn farther at trying to start a coercive state. So even if everyone is on the same page about government being bad, by the time they band together, power has already been consolidated.
What caused the breakup of the Soviet Union? Glasknot?
Incompetence and corruption of the Party.
Stalin was right - to make communism work you need oil it by blood(of the Party).
Purges was what keep it working.
Also Party really thought that West will help them and country.
What happened to the Free Territory of Trieste? Is it Italy or not? Does anyone have good insights?
Also, general about Free Territory of Trieste. I also have some pics and resources if thread starts.
Has any nation risen from such irrelevance to such dominance as the United States did pre and post world wars in such a short period?
We didn't so much rise out of irrelevance as we did reverse our former isolationist position. There's a huge difference.
The funniest thing about it is that the Americans were never aiming towards becoming a world superpower. They reached it as a side-effect of being decent, likeable people worthy of trust. Americans are peace-loving people by nature.
Howdy, germanic servants! Check it out, i'm made of gold!

The Byzantine """""""Empire""""""""
I mean the reason it's still referred to as an Empire is to make it easier for historians instead of calling it the Byzantine Empire during one time period and then the Byzantine State in the next.
The chances that any contemptuous power called them an empire during this time is pretty low.
Also, it's kind of a nostalgia thing, like calling the retired man coach even though he hasn't been on in years.
What would this war look like and what would the most likely outcome of been.
I have trouble even concieving how a early 20th century war between the U.S. and the UK would even come about; and it almost certainly wouldn't be a total war, because again, I just can't see anything provoking that kind of thing.
But as for how it would go, the U.S. is in an enormously advantaegous position. It would probably take 4-6 months to build up enough force to easily sweep into Canada, and while you'd probably see continuing resistance on the ice, the main urban belt would be occupied...

I am looking for books/whathaveyou on these topics, particularly with regards to the common man's views on the war, Canada's identity and their social activities.
Would also like to hear views on race and national security if that doesn't sound too /pol/.
Partly homefront, but also the great lost Canadian novel of WW2.
"Turvey" by Earle Birney (WW2 vet who later became known for his poetry).
Has a "Good Soldier Schwejk" vibe to it.
This is from a 1943 tabloid newspaper called "Hush", which was a scandal sheet printed in Montreal. 1/2
