Who is the greatest theologian of all time? If all the great theologians had a debate, who would win, judging only on their theological/philosophical points, exposition, persuasiveness of their character etc.?
2 rules: We're talking theologians, not philosophers. Also, the person must have actually written something. So you can't say Jesus or Buddha, though their followers are fair game
Also, dubious writings (Like Lao Tzu's writings, or certain letters by Saint Paul) will be considered genuine as long as the far majority of their historical followers considered them genuine. For example, Paul's pastoral epistles are acceptable, apocalypse of Paul is not.

Anyone who can win a rigged theological debate like the Disputation of Barcelona is going to win this challenge.
So apparently there's a big difference between master and slave morality (slave morality victimise themselves, everyone are equal, etc).
But when you come to think about it, it doesn't matter. Both of the moralities are just used by people to support their own interests. I don't want to go full /pol/, but for example, feminism tends to be a slave morality, but that's only because it's serves their interests. And it's the reason why white heterosexual fascist movements are master moralities because it serves their own interest.
TL;DR:...

Of course all morality is to promote their own interests dumb-ass. That's Nietzsche's point. Everything is Will to Power.
The Master has real power so he follows the Master Morality which gives him the maximum potential to use his power for his own benefit: that which harms him is bad and that which helps him is good. Using his immense power and pragmetic approach to life the Master gets many subjects.
The Slave has no power and is subserviant to the Master. So he follows a morality of subversion,...

And understanding the Will to Power will cause one to valorize strength (master morality), rather than weakness (slave morality). Nietzsche admits that it was in the self interests of the weak to valorize themselves, but he points out that in doing so, they ignore reality--life affirms strength. It's an almost Aristotelian observation of his. OP is only focusing on the effect of morality on the individual, but Nietzsche was making a larger statement about the reality of the human condition, and nature more broadly....

Wasn't Nietzsche's point to transcend both anyway?
>>1130650
I really don't see how that can be the case. Life does indeed affirm strength, but there is undeniably a strength to be had in numbers, and it isn't by shaming that slaves make masters step down.
If every past President ran for President today against each other, who would win and why?

I'm interested in the history of atheism.
Why didn't atheism gain momentum earlier than the 20th century? Why didn't the free thinkers of the middle ages or the dark ages already liberate themselves from religious oppression? Surely back in that time there also used to be a lot of guys who knew they didn't need a sky daddy. So what exactly was holding back science from winning over superstition for almost two millennia?

Religion no longer offers a valid explanation for the origin and state of the world, the Earth and all the species on it, whilst science does. There is simply no evidence for the existence of any deities, much less those of organized religions, so there is no reason to believe in a god.

Marx agreed pretty much with Darwin though, they even shared letters with each other.
And Catholicism isn't exactly the right sect if you want to oppose evolution, try with something form the US south.

Marx never took on Darwin directly iirc, though their theories are similar in that struggle is the driving force of history, or in Darwin's belief, natural history

It is a sin to have sex outside marriage, why wouldn't it be to masturbate? It is a pure act of lust, completely selfish and unfruitful. It has all the features of a sin.

Let's have a thread about Poland's invasion of Czechia a year before WW2, /his/.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish%E2%80%93Czechoslovak_border_conflicts#Annexations_by_Poland_in_1938
it's not like Czechs invaded Poland for a meagre scrap of clay as Poles were defending Europe from the Communist offensive
>Poles attack USSR in 1920
>Attack Czechia the same year
>Attack Czechia in 1938 because got BTFO before
>Attack German radio station in 1939
>Attack USSR again in the same year
Why is Poland attacking everyone all the time? They should be partitioned again.
>>1134043
Wasn't that particular attack (the radio station one) a Nazi false flag op to create a reason to invade Poland?

Yeah, but what about Finns then? I cannot name any Finnish scientist for the life of me
We don't have all that much else going for us, I guess. There also seems to be some kind of general feeling of "Weltschmerz" among most of us. Most Germans I know, even the happier ones, either struggle with or have come to terms with certain nihilistic principles. I could see this being fertile ground for philosophy, art and the sciences.
But that's really just speculation obviously.

They live on the same island but Haiti can not seem to get its shit together. So what I am wondering is was there something about Spanish colonial rule that somehow set Dominicans up with good institutions vs what the French did? Is the answer that slavery is to blame? Slaves were about 15-20% of DRs population, Haitians were 90% enslaved. Did this breed a culture of oppression and...

It's indeed slavery. Slaves governing themselves is like children governing themselves, doesn't even matter if they're nigs or whites.
