Monotheism came out of the desert and it was created by desert people because of their monotonous environment.
Polytheism came out of diverse and rich environments; and even when these people became Christianized, they basically turned it into a Pantheon with Saints and Angels. And in a way even the Trinity is polytheistic by nature.
This is one of the (many) reasons why desert religions are alien to the Nordic Race.

Can impurity be washed away, forgotten?
If a person who does a lot of wrong, evil things, and then changes himself to the Right Path, can he ever be the same worth as someone who has always been on the Right Path? I'm asking for a Catholic perspective in particular, but other points of view are also welcome. By Right Path I mean not doing anything sinful, doing what's moral, etc.
If anything, the formerly impure person is to be considered with more respect, as they had to contend with possibly greater temptation. That is of course assuming that all humans have the same natural resistance to temptation. Otherwise one can take the view that the former sinner is still pulling themselves out of a deeper and more serious situation, therefore bettering their relationship with God in a way in which a consistently religious person would never be able to.

At least from a Jewish perspective, one can sin, repent, and do good and be yet greater than someone who has never sinned. That isn't necessarily the case though; but for instance, Moses is canonically the greatest prophet and greatest Jew, but he sinned on several occasions. The Poles were being assholes to Germans out of revanchism, but there was no genocide.

The Germans commissioned investigators after the invasion of Poland was over to document the supposed crimes of the Poles. The first draft of the report, released in November 1939, documented the murders of ~5,400 ethnic Germans by Poles leading up to the invasion. This was later changed by authorities to 54,000, mostly because they felt they needed a larger number to keep the populace convinced the war was necessary in spite of the wholesale slaughter of Poles that immediately followed the invasion.
However, contrary to the claims of the Germans, these murders weren't state sponsored in any way. There were definitely tensions in many places, with some Polish soldiers targeting ethnic Germans once the war broke out (while others went out of their way to protect them), but as a whole the German propaganda is just that - propaganda. Remember that there were also ethnic German militias in parts of Poland that were stirring up shit as well, so the claim that the Poles were maliciously targeting innocent Germans doesn't really hold much water.
It's also notable that the German commission tasked with documenting war crimes saw right through the poorly-executed false flag attack Germany used as casus belli.
