It's biggest mistake was not just making peace with the Nazis in 1940 and retaining their empire. The U.S forcing them to dismantle it was always one of the greatest and ironic injustices of the 20th century considering their own imperialist tendencies.
But they did survive.
Their country makes a shitload of money, and it's secure from conquest.
