Is it ethically wrong to be very knowledgeable about things such as warfare?
According to what sort of ethics?
How on god's green earth would it be ethically wrong by any measurement is the real question here

The battle of Myeongnyang
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Myeongnyang
This was when the korean navy, composed of a mere 13 standard panokseon ships defeated an estimated number of around 200 japanese warships.
Was admiral Yi-Sun shin a naval genius? Or was it exaggerated? This is a bit hard to believe.
Pic unrelated- because all turtle ships were destroyed or damaged beyond fast repair in the previous battle before Myeongnyang
Seems amazing.
My question, OP, is how come the Koreans developed superior warships, when it was the Japanese who had a much richer history of seafaring - fishing, being an island nation, trading trough sea, etc. I suppose it should have been the other way arround, the Japs with amazing ships and naval tactics whilst the Koreans would behave like a swimming dog running from a shark in the middle of the sea of Japan.

Different styles of combat. The japanese actually weren't all that concerned with naval combat because they were fighting bloody civil wars in the island.
And during the invasion, they favored speed with boarding party styles for their better equipped the trained marines to fight in hand-to-hand combat. That shifted their ship designs in a more V shape, with no canons to maintain speed.
Koreans on the other hand, favored maneuverability, which came with the box-esque shape of the bottom. Koreans...

Perhaps because the japanese, being dominant, had less incentive for radical innovation. Just a thought
Why were medieval islamic scholars overwhelmingly of Persian descent?
Because guess where the heart of the Abbasid caliphate is
Because the Muslim empire was mostly based on Persian civilization perhaps?

I am fucking scared.
I am scared shitless of death. Just the thought of being unconscious for all eternity is painful. Everything I've accumulated over the years will be gone. And there's NOTHING I can do to stop it.
I'd take a religion but knowing it's not true it'd be pretty pointless anyways. What do I do?
Let us not fear death, the greatest of all evils, for when we are, it is not, and when it is, we are not.
>>1246003
doot, death is the end of everything, and you can't go back. i hate it.
>>1246009
Why hate the only thing we all equally share?
Was he really all that bad? When I talk about him with non-Mexicans, they say he seemed like a pretty cool guy, shame the Mexicans executed him.
The Mexicans that I've spoken to about him all say he was a really bad guy, wanted to enslave Mexico or some other stuff like that. They tended to either get real quiet or try to make excuses when I tell them how he tried to be a good leader to Mexico, how he tried to push reforms benefiting the peasantry and such. I even once found a history of Mexico in Spanish that tried to justify his execution, making it sound like the...

He was our only hope of becoming a prosperous country in touch with Europe. Instead we celebrate becoming another shithole US puppet.

Japan is the most US controlled country on earth, and they're great.
Don't blame us for your country being shit.
What allowed men to be more successful/dominating than females? Is it because of their reproductive organs? Would things be different if men had vaginas and women had penises? Or is it some other biological factor like strength and intelligence?

They are bigger and stronger.
This is pretty important.
Even between men, the tallest, gruffest voiced one tends to take leadership roles. It's just something we are wired to do, maybe.
>reproductive system requires substantial resources to work
>gender that doesn't have to commit all of those resources tends to pick up the slack in terms of work and combat

You probably think white people are superior to other skin colored people too.

There was no urge to do so

Except for all those missing political dissenters and Ukrainians

Fuck yeah bud.
Is Jesus on the cross the true symbol of Christianity? It seems like it was created by Jews to remind Christians that they put their Messiah on the cross and to piss off Muslims because they don't believe that Christ was crucified.
>>1243847
>Is Jesus on the cross the true symbol of Christianity?
Yes.
>But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
>>1243847
>The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

who is the quote in the image from?
So while sitting in the backyard today I got pic related (not me though).
It made me wonder, how did ancient europeans handle sunburn? If they would be made up of sun-sensitive individuals they would surely feel the negative impact of being outside all day, unprotected.
So how did the fuckers do it? How were they special?
Did they just wear clothes? Were they genetically different from current white europeans in a way that mad them more resistant to sunburn? Did they use herbs/natural remedies?
All the way from pre-historic europeans all the way until...

the seasons give a natural base for a tan, the problem is that we spend the majority of our time inside then SUDDENLY spend all day outside in summer.
And there are several folk remedies for this kind of thing, honey, yoghurt, oat paste, bee wax etc.

people that got in the sun never needed sunblock, they just worked in the sun and got gradualy tanned, or burned, same as they got calouses on their hands and feet or say, frostbite in winter
look at older peoples skin if you go trough a rural or seaside area
on the other hand smooth white skin was a sign of distinction, a sign you dont have to actualy work outside, upper class women acted like direct sunlight is toxic
