any greek fags up in this, mind translating something for me
"βορβορου ούk έσμεν"
was inscribed in an anthology of poetry by DH lawrence, as far as i can tell it means filth without hope but im hardly confident. Mind lending a nig a hand
Looks like that first word is something like barbaros, so there's my two cents based on my shit knowledge of the greek alphabet. Suppose that's the filth part of it.
Silly xenophobic Greeks

Literally translated it means:
"We're not of barbarian"
So maybe a group of people claiming not to be barbarians?

Is ego death for faggots?
Triggered ego detected
>>1414117
how the fuck can something like that be "for" anything?
>>1414117
Your ego will die with your mortal body anyway, but in theory you can choose to get rid of it before your body actually dies (referred to as ego death). Even though in this theory your ego doesn't actually exist - so it doesn't actually die because there's nothing there to die. So ego death means you lose a false idea of yourself and you wake up to who you really are. And no this is not for faggots.
If there's no such thing as "right" and "wrong" then how can you say that's "correct"?
>>1413807
Correctness is an arbitrary state, whatever conforms to it is designated as correct.
Is this question intentionally worded to be as misleading as possible? When people say there is no right or wrong, they are referring to ethics, not the validity of information.
Truth Value isn't necessarily equivocal to "Right" or "Wrong". The latter two words are utilized in ethical questions.
The difference is between Is and Ought.

I was just reading that the vast majority of the camps were liberated by the soviets, who then promptly razed most of them. Then due to the cold war western researchers were prevented from accessing them.
Isn't that a little unsettling?
>>1413333
I assume that you are talking about the holocaust? How is this unsettling? Why would the Soviets leave them?

Why would they destroy historically important sites? Why wouldn't they allow a few token western historians/anthropologists in to study?
>>1413363
The entire continent of Europe was pretty much a "historically important site" at the point.
>Why wouldn't they allow a few token western historians/anthropologists in to study?
Why would they? It was during the cold war. What advantage would they get from this?
Are Christians hypocrites?
They claim that it is completely certain the Universe exists and that "God" exists, but they can't even prove they are not just some brain in a vat.

The only relevant battle of Zvolen is the one between Habsburgs and the Kuruc army.

>In early 1863, Union naval commander David Dixon Porter resorted to a strange hoax after one of his best ships, the new ironclad USS Indianola, had run aground on the Mississippi River near Vicksburg, Mississippi and was captured by Confederate forces. As the latter were trying to repair the damaged Indianola and refloat her so that her powerful guns could be turned against Porter's remaining fleet, Porter ordered the construction of a giant dummy ironclad out of barges, barrels and other materials at hand. Fashioned to look like a real warship – even down to logs sticking out of the sides and painted to resemble cannons – the huge craft, painted black to give it a sinister appearance and flying the pirate Jolly Roger flag, was put on the water and floated downstream. It silently sailed in the night past Rebel shore batteries, impervious to their gunfire and not returning their fire at all. News and exaggerated rumors of the mysterious and seemingly indestructable super-ship quickly spread through Vicksburg and reached the Confederate salvage crews working on the Indianola; in a panic, they halted their salvage efforts, instead just blowing up the Indianola and abandoning the wreckage site, thus failing in their mission to salvage and reuse the ship. When the giant dummy ship finally ran aground and was captured and inspected by the Confederates, Southern newspapers got hold of the story and roundly criticized their military and naval authorities for having been unable to tell the difference between a real warship and a fake one.

i want to get into philosophy of physics/science but I don't know where to start.
is there any good introductory book on the philosophy of physics?
while we're at it, is there also any good introductory book on philosophy of mathematics?
bamp
Best philosophy of science books that I've read are Thomas Kuhn's Structure of Scientific Revolutions (an easy read) and Karl Popper's Logic of Scientific Discovery (long and super dense). I'm sure there's other important stuff out there, but these two are pretty influential, especially Kuhn.
Does anyone know what this is?

Could it be some kind of spraying device? The flexible bit looks like a mouth-piece, and if you blew really hard, and filled the container with a powder, you'd be able to get a decent aerosol.
Would have never taught of that. I've no clue what it is but that seems pretty possible

After alot of time in /his/, which I may or may not regret.
I seen alot of shit flinging against catholic and orthodox people, cathocucks because of the pope, assuming all catholics is the pope. Orthodox people being commies and what not.
I got two questions, a little unrelated perhaps but fuck you, one; Which of these two christian churches btfo'd the muslims the most? Two; I know people of both catholic and orthodox faith, and they are neither cucks or commies, could someone explain this banter?

What does /his/ think on the Japanese occupation of Korea?
Past the Japanese and SK propaganda, what truly happened? Were the Koreans persecuted? Were the Japanese benevolent?
Pic related, Honmachi Street in Keijo, now Myeongdong in Seoul
>>1410572
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korea_under_Japanese_rule
(Sorry)
>>1410572
It was both, the Koreans were systematically exploited but at the same time the Japanese helped to elevate them out of feudalism.
It was mostly positive, I won't deny there was some persecution but Korea would be nowhere without Japanese occupation. If China had laid down their arms instead of being slavish Western puppets, maybe they also could've experienced superior Japanese organization and industrialization instead of fake modernization with Chinese characteristics (read: shit like everything that comes from China).
