Reading up on the history of great empires and civilizations there is a trend I have noticed. Almost every great empire in History fell due to invasions by semi-nomadic/pastoral people. I mean think about it.
The Indus valley civilization fell due to the Aryan invasion
The Hittite empire fell thanks to raids undertaken by the sea peoples
Rome fell due to invasions by Germanic Tribes/Huns
Song dynasty China fell due to the Mongol invasions
The Byzantine and Sassanid fell due to Turkic/Arab invasions
Why do you think this is /his/?
>>1331590
You are only looking at ancient empires right there.
Also, who else would stop them?
And then the barbarians turn into effeminate weakling after settling into civilized life
>>1331590
Fall is a strong word and implies being finished.
When some people like the likes of Egypt or China ousted their Nomadshit invaders out.
>[A] form of Republican and secularist fundamentalism has become a mask to hide a new form of virulent Islamophobia.
>At stake [...] is not just solidarity but fidelity to the memory and heritage of emancipatory struggles and he writes in defence of the Muslims, just as Zola wrote in defence of the Jews and Sartre wrote in defence of the blacks. For if we are to be for the oppressed then we must be for the Muslims.
What should we do to tackle the biggest social problem of our time?
>>1338119
Not let them into our countries. Now there is no problem.
>>1338121
The most important countries are already brimming with Muslims.
Where are you that there aren't any Muslims? There is even a growing Muslim population in Japan.

Are the Jews as bad as /pol/ says?
Are they really promiscuous, sex-crazed nihilists who control all the world's financial systems?
No.
In fact Jews are one of the most prosecuted and targeted groups troughout all of history.
They're not nihilists. They do it for the glory of HaShem

Can someone explain to me the hate on /his/ and /pol/ for Jews? Also which kind of Jew are we referring to? Are we making fun of zionist types or rich white stereotypes?

>"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?"
—Matthew 6:25
Sounds dumb. Buddha agreed that proper body care is needed else a dead man lying is of no use to edification of anything.
Excessive is however a problem.
>Literally telling people to not concern themselves with basic bodily functions like finding food and water
Is there anything in the whole universe more life-denying than Christianity?

Abrahamic faiths are all about nofunism and death.

Could Adam and Eve have been tree-dwelling ape-like creatures like Ardi or Toumai?
Were they cro-magnons?
>>1327196
Mitochondrial Eve and genetic Adam didn't live at the same time period or in the same location, so no.
This is what my Bible looked like. Not only did I read it cover to cover twice, but I also studied it and broke each verse down in its original language and used a Hebrew and Greek lexicon and concordance to study a word's original meaning and usage.
And do you know what I began to see? I saw men creating God in their own image. God is just a larger form of man's ego, only he's beyond accountability. God is simply what man fantasizes about becoming.
Religious men have even attributed man's ugly traits to their God - like jealousy, possessiveness,...

People think it's blasphemous whenever I suggest that I could teach God a few things about parenting, But they fail to see that a God who is silent and absent in a child's life is no father at all. The father who dips his children in lava simply because they did not reciprocate love back to him is a monster, not a loving Heavenly Father.
Having children completely changed my ideas about love and fatherhood. And I want to distance myself as far as I can from the father of the Bible lest my children...

ITT: We choose a historical leader and implement them into Civilization. Bonuses, buffs/debuffs, uniques, OP or viable.
For some examples to work on, what way to you think Brian Boru, Churchill, Toyotomi Hideyoshi or Mao Zedong would work?
Winston Churchill
Bonus: "Lord of the Admiralty", naval units have a combat bonus when attacking
Unique Unit: Hawker Hurricane or Supermarine Spitfire. Replaces fighter aircraft, gains combat bonus when fighting in friendly or allied territory.
Unique Building: British Broadcasting Channel. Replaces Radio Tower. Provides a free promotion to any military units built in this city and friendly troops get a combat bonus inside the city and in adjacent tiles.

You mean like civ 4? civ 5 has one leader per faction so leader bonuses are pretty much irrelevant.

What would happen to Soviet Union if Trotsky took over after Lenin died instead of Stalin?
Marxist utopia or dystopia?
>>1326190
It would be, essentially, the same under any person.
There's a reason communism hasn't been tried, and it's because nobody can do it right and nobody ever will do it right.
>>1326223
I don't subscribe to this point of view.
It was difficult to achieve communism in the past, but not impossible. Though all attempts failed, they were not numerous enough to make it a rule.
But it will be different in the future as technology progresses, and the need for human workforce decreases. Communism will not necessarily ensue, barbarism is possible, but it will make things easier if it is attempted.
>>1326190
Certainly not an utopia. Trotsky...

It would have collapsed because Trotsky wasn't pragmatic. Even if he managed to last to WWII, he wouldn't have legalized the Church like Stalin did, and consequently would have lost the war.
Also, he would have been just as brutal.
>Most Romans worked a six hour day, beginning at dawn and ending at noon, although, occasionally some shops might reopen in the early evening. The city’s forum would be empty because the afternoon was devoted to leisure - attending the games (gladiatorial competitions, chariot races, or wrestling), the theater or the baths - all of which were also enjoyed by the poor (as many in government felt the need for the poor to be entertained).

Caring for people stopped being a thing long ago.
Nowadays it's "At least you aren't in some poorer place" and usually some meme cause for people to band around which changes nothing and ultimately amounts to nothing because the cause is either useless ora meme or it requires real effort.
