I'm striving for explanatory knowledge. I'm currently studying on my own mathematics, formall logic, physics, theoretical computer science and philosophy. If I remember correctly, that guy did an alright job of translating. The principal Upanishads are short, I got three different translations at a used book store for about four bucks each. Look up the translators and see what people say about them. Some people should be avoided. You said you want to read the bhagavad gita. Don't get the bhagavad gita as it is, by prabhupada.
