What would've been different if Leon Trotsky became the leader of the Soviet Union instead of Stalin?
Less Stalin statues and paintings.
>>3649
Soviet union would have collapsed quickly , trotsky wanted an international revolution , so he pushed for the polish war , where the soviets got rekt , i think he would have kept trying until other soviets would kick him out
>>3649
Congratulations, you just swapped Stalin for the Russian equivalent of Mao.
The Red Army is a huge factor in political questions now, industrialization never happens, it might be that they even start WWII.
I cannot believe this slips my tongue, but Stalin's rule was actually preferrable.
Apparently William Tecumseh Sherman is new meme.

How would China have turned out if the KMT had succeded in putting down Mao before or after WWII?
Would it be an even greater economic power than today, without having gone through Mao's great jump forward?
I don't think the Cold War would have been as long or intense. The commies originally had nice intentions but went to shit after a bit, my grandpa even fought for them. The KMT also had some unpopular warlord support. Perhaps initially KMT China would not have been very successful, but with western support and influence it would be a nice place to live today.
>>3630
The KMT was a corrupt and authoritarian shit. It was only the reforms of Lee Teng-hui that allowed it to be successful today.
Let's talk about the Holy Roman Empire

Could you recommend any good history books on the Holy Roman Empire?
Why did Barbarossa drown?
Was it a conspiracy or was the man too dumb to swim?
