Do employers like History degrees?
Or is it difficult to get a decent job with one?
I knew a guy with a PhD in history.
He works as a security guard.
>>1363612
Well, it goes without saying that anyone who does a PhD in History is retarded and wasting their time apart from the tiny % that become university lecturers. But I'm talking about a Bachelor's.
>>1363627
Believe it or not, even in STEM, if you started work with a bachelor's you'll end up making more by the time most people get their PhDs (and I'm specifically referring to those who wait until getting their PhDs before they even bother getting a job). There's a shocking amount of people like that in the job market, which lowers everyone's else chance.
Ever have a overbearing parent and run away from home with a gay lover? Ever have your dad ground you afterwards and give you a punishment that is a tad excessive? Ever take that punishment way to hard, and end up venting that angst onto neighboring nation-states upon your father's death? Ever become one of the worlds greatest patrons of the arts and culture an entire race of people from pure militarism? Ever successfully repel a coordinated invasion by the three largest superpowers on the planet?
Then you share something with Old Fritz.

I personally don't believe in "evil", i think it just an aspect that we apply to things that don't fall in line with our own morality. Making Good and Evil subjective etc etc.
Im more curious to what makes something "evil". What is evil itself. No is born into this world hating anything. So where does evil come from.
Evil is greed ignorance and anger.
-t Buddhism
The thing is, there is no such thing as true evil. Adolf Hitler? Screwed up childhood that caused mental instabilities? Joseph Stalin? Believed what he was doing was for "the greater good", same as hitler. The average blood or crip gang member? Believes that is what they need to do in order to survive
We live in a world driven by self interest and the feeling of necessity to do what is in that interest
"evil" can be described as the source of fear
to a psychopath who lacks fear there is no evil
to a normal person the source of said evil is the psychopath.
Is the pious loved by the gods because it is pious, or is it pious because it is loved by the gods?
Depends on what god(s) you're talking about.
Being pious is to be godlike.

--> The word about specialities in sex preferences and choice of partner is a lie
I can't be called an above normal speciality. I'm hetero and wanting to say something about it normally means the one that is saying it has some- or anything at all to do with it.
Among other things this confirms it is untrue
So just looking at this, any thoughts about this:
Male around age 13 has, or can have the position of a girlfriend of a male of any age. And what is this position normally.
This sort of thing can't automatically lead to a special preference.

Were there interactions between the indigenous people of Oceania and Southeast/East Asians?
Any notable cultural exchanges? Did they even come face to face?
>>1363342
of course.
Some even say that aztecs knew the maoris.

Dude you're doing that thing stupid people do by placing arbitrary lines on land masses.
Did he really fuck little boys?
Dunno, but Plato's version of him doesn't. He flirts with them very heavily but ultimately won't do sex because he thinks is detracts from the relationship.

Wouldn't doubt it. It was considered good manners back then.
Shota is truly the pinnacle of beauty in the human form
How accurate is Tombstone? Less the plot, more the character depictions? I do know Ike Clanton's family complained about his portrayal.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGNdnlCbfMs
It's pretty accurate while at the same time giving a slant. Doc Holiday, for instance, was kind of annoying loudmouth judging by reading about him, but the movie managed to portray his character pretty accurately and make it charming, which I guess makes sense, since there was clearly something that appealed to him to very reserved people like Wyatt. who was almost the complete opposite.
Not at all. But there was a Doc Holliday, and there was a shootout at the OK Corral. Believing Hollywood films are representations of history is retarded. Don't be a fucking retard.
Also stop posting until you've actually read a book or two.

Are the cultural traits of a nation worth maintaining?
Humans are designed to adapt their culture to changing circumstances.
Those changes that make the society better at facing its environment are good.
Those changes that make the society less adaptive to the new environment are bad.

The Mongols adapted their society wonderfully to the needs of conquest for a hundred years or more, then they crumbled, empire after empire, because their martial qualities weren't suited to their new lifestyle. They hit a dead end, despite having an amazing set of cultural and societal adaptations.
How do we prevent such dead ends from detrimentally affecting our present-day societies?
