Let's answer this from a catholic perspective.
Did God create intelligent aliens in his image? Do those aliens have a space Jesus? Is Space Jesus the same as ours or will he return at a different time?
If they thought deeply about the what-ifs then they probably aren't still Catholic. Just saying.
Maybe. Yes if the aliens have original sin. The Church is universal so Jesus returns at the same time for everyone

How seriously did people regard legends like the Kraken? Were they just tall tales that any educated (or experienced) person dismissed immediately or is this something that ship captains were truly concerned about? The guy who made this picture Pierre Denys de Montfort certainly seemed to think it was real, but then he might have just been trying to sell books or make a name for himself and from his Wikipedia article it seems that he was regarded as something of a crackpot. For the sake of reference, let's stick between 1300-1900.

Well, like most historical myths, it was probably an exaggerated depiction of actual events of threats. There may have not been ship-sized octopi which would suck a whole crew into the sea, but there are still many large sea-faring creatures which could cause hazard to sailors. For regular boaters, anything from some octopus or shark could put you in a life-threatening situation. Out on the open ocean, you also had large whales, sharks, and countless other animals beneath the water that you couldn't see, yet who...

The Kraken is more-or-less just an amalgamated spirit - it's a mish-mash of whales, cephalopods and volcanic activity.

Probably like people think of aliens. Some believe it some dont.

Martin Luther King Jr. slept around but I'm pretty sure no one is going to use that to discredit his work, why should this have any bearing on the work he did.
Geniuses always make shit husbands.
>"I had always thought of woman," says Mr. Tesla, "as possessing those delicate qualities of mind and soul that made her in these respects far superior to man. I had put her on a lofty pedestal, figuratively speaking, and ranked her in certain important attributes considerably higher than man. I worshiped at the feet of the creature I had raised to this height, and, like every true worshiper, I felt myself unworthy of the object of my worship.

Why did people blindly follow what Aristotle said until the enlightenment?
They didn't really. Neo-Platonism was hot too.
>>355396
>people blindly follow what Aristotle said
Why are you making this up.
If you took the time to read some of the people that came after them, a lot of what they did was try to reconcile his beliefs with their own about the universe. Aquinas is a good place to start, as he tried to reconcile Aristotelian cosmology with Christian traditions.
Sup, /his/. I see a lot of posting about nationalism here on /his/, mostly "why do nationalist x" "fucking nationalist y" and so on. Well, i'm an 21th century nationalist (though i won't usually say it out loud without having the time to explain what nationalism means to me) and those comments have always puzzled me.
So i want you to tell what nationalism is (for you) or perhaps even ask questions. Genuinely interested.

Christianity (excluding some Protestant sects) seems to lend itself naturally to socialism.
Has there ever been a Christian socialist country, or any kind of Christian socialist movement? I know there were some commie priests in South America, but did they participate in politics?
>>355191
Tony Blair is a member of the Christian Socialist Movement.
>>355191
>Christianity (excluding some Protestant sects) seems to lend itself naturally to socialism.
That's stupid.
Historical Christianity is rooted in hierarchy, stemming as it does out of questions to do with authority and providence. Monarchism therefore has more to do with it than any rabble rousing ideology such as socialism.
>>355191
Not at all, there is multiple writings against socialism as unchristian. Christianity would agree with the heart of the matter, such as your picture would show, but they would disagree on the means specifically.
What makes someone a ''pseudo-intellectual'' in your opinion?
Arrogance?
>>355038
Intellectual, as in someone who actually partakes in academic intellectual life and produces unique works, is an actual word and pseudo is an actual word. Pseudo-intellectual means postulating as an intellectual or creating intellectual works that are perfidious.
A pseudo intellectual who isn't formally educated and they or someone like them has disagreed with me.
I'd say a lot of namedropping. Style over substance. It's difficult to define, though.
