Why do poverty correlates with religion ?
Poor people are less educated.

if reality doesn't include possibility of you being happy you need to get creative
Probably because religion can give people hope when things are their darkest.
Was helped the Balkan countries to gain their independence from the Turks a big mistake ?

Why did every man going out in public in the 1920s have to wear a black 3 piece suit with a tie and hat? In the 1930s, you started seeing men wear suits with no vests, shirts with ties with no jacket, leather jackets, men with no hats, and other things. And then in the late 40s you started seeing men wear suits and shirts of varying colors, more men with no hats, and obviously this trend in clothing diversity continued to today. But why was there zero diversity in the prosperous 20s?
>>1424055
>why do I have such a huge retard hat that I prance around in 24/7?
We may never know. Just because you only see pictures where cameramen were hired in that age does not mean that "every man" did it.
You didn't wear a fucking suit if you worked in a mine, you braindead fuckfool.
>>1424059
Uhhh, I said in public? Like meaning downtown out in the city? Why are you being such a dick for no reason
>>1424061
Because you are a fucking cancer which has to be removed from this board, scumbag
An overview of history tells us that there is always a trend towards some central ideal and that 'centralism' or stability (stagnation) rarely wins out. Comparing societies between the centuries makes it possible to identify the zeitgeist that defined the momentum of nations.
What ideal is the West trending towards nowadays? How will this transform societies over the next century?
I wish I could give you an answer, but really hard to tell at this point
Just look how much the west changed in the past 15 years
>>1423889
>What ideal is the West trending towards nowadays?
International companies gaining more and more economic power and becoming independent political actors, just like states.
Tarifs gradually dissapearing, states that stay out of the common markets lose their competitive edge.
Loyalty to companies grows into a force compareble to nationalism.
Democracies move further to just the tyranny of the masses: states disregarding human rights, privacy, due process etc.,...

Pretty sure the gray part is "rest of the world"
This has probably been asked at some point before, but why do some people spell it "Habsburg" while others spell it "Hapsburg?" Which is correct, or are they both acceptable?
Both correct weirdly enough.
Language develops over time, both correct. Just like how Ottoman Empire and Osman Empire are both correct.
Haus Habsburg exists longer than Standard German. At least nowadays, Habsburg is the correct one to use.
Ppl back then wrote as they spoke, until (more or less) Luther wrote his bible. Even fucking Luther had like 15 different versions of spelling his name.
Really makes you think...

There are retards who think Jesus was nice?
>>1423721
Nop OP but surely there are, most liberal Christians treat Jesus like he was a hippy.

I can understand Europe and the Middle East but how the hell does South America and East Asia have antisemites?
>>1423613
South America is where all the Nazis fled to
Asians know not to trust anything that resembles a human but clearly isn't.

It's surprising to see the breadth of opinion in Islamic nations. I guess the whole Israel-Palestine issue is just something Arabs care about.

Why were Ancient people so brutal?
I always thought that only white people invented slavery and genocide but when I open the bible it is full with it.
This doesn't fit the narrative of the peaceful, nature-loving people at all who existed before white people started turning the world to hell.
Simply epic

nature is brutal
people are a part of nature

Now that the dust has settled, can we safely say that secularism was a failure?
No.
In fact, we need even MORE secularism!
Fire the anti-church ray!
Nigga what? Secular States are objectively the best nations in the world.
The middle east, Africa, and south America are the least secular and what a surprise those are all the shit holes in the world.
Compare the secular and non-secular states. Tell me which one are the shitholes
ITT: What does /his/ think of anarchy and where could it work, some records have shown that it worked in ukraine as the Revolutionary Insurrectionary Army of Ukraine
>>1422886
>What does /his/ think of anarchy
Horrible, literally a curse and an insult to civilized people.
>and where could it work
Some place where there are only anarchists who also happen to productive members of society.
It's a neat idea whose time may come soon with technological change, but (like other centenarian ideologies) it suffers from a community that values historical recapitulation over adaptation and currentness.
>>1422886
The problem with Anarchy is that a state with a military complex is required to defend itself, which the Ukrainians figured out when the Soviets invaded.
My friend traced back his ancestry and found out he is part Irish from the Loftus Family.
He found his coat of arms and were wondering what the markings on it stand for.
Could a /his/torian help us decipher what it means?
>>1422879
Those coat of arms websites are a scam.
>>1422879
I'm pretty sure 90% of these heraldic crests that aren't actually associated with real historical nobility were made by opportunists trying to sell shitty mugs and t-shirts to Americans.
/his/fags have a coat of arms
