For some reason, saliva does not appear to contain HIV. But that's *pure saliva* and not saliva that has blood in it, for example. If someone brushed their teeth beforehand and even SLIGHTLY scratched their gums enough to bleed into their saliva then if they have HIV there's a non-zero chance of getting it from kissing / oral sex, especially if it's a dude going down on a chick since the mucous membranes in the vagina can more easily have infections pass through them than the skin of the penis.
