I've never had any issues crossing my eyes, and by now I can cross them pretty much instantly. Been doing it for months on end, and I haven't noticed any impairments. But the first time around, and also when doing it for a longer time than what you're used to, your eyes do start to hurt a bit. It's probably wise to take a break at that point.

In a few years, people will look back at this stuff and shake their heads in disgust. Just like we do at flip books when comparing them to actual animation.
>>
>>4245819
You don't "cross" your eyes to look at that kind of stuff. You uncross them, so they both look straight at the image in front of them, instead of focusing on a single one.

I'll never get why people think they cross them. Your left eye isn't trying to look at the right-side image.
>>
>>4248791
>Your left eye isn't trying to look at the right-side image.
You sure about that, buddy?
>>
>>4248791
http://www.angelfire.com/ca/erker/freeview.html

>Learning to Cross Eye Freeview: In cross eye freeviewing the image for the left eye is on the right and the image for the right eye is on the left. You stare at a point about 1/2 way to the screen so that your eye's gaze is crossing at the half way point. Thus the left eye sees the correct image which is on the right. As you cross your eyes the image will go double. When your eyes are crossed the correct amount the middle images will overlap and be in 3d. The two outer images will remain and will be in 2d.
>>
>>4248791
But anon, it's called cross-eye for a reason because that's exactly how you view it. Here look at the picture, if you cross your eyes the bottom one will pop out and the top should be inversed and the reverse should be true for a parallel, or as you called it "uncrossed," picture.

I don't understand how you could view everything parallel ITT and not notice that every picture has the background popping out and the parts closest popping in.

>>4248785
But people don't shake there head in disgust about flip-books? They still serve a purpose as entertainment for children. I think that free-view stereoscopic will still hold in the relative popularity because all you need to view it are your eyes and a screen. VR peripherals can be used for this, but their main purpose is not usually to be a glorified stereoscope or View Master.

This always ends up being incredibly blurry to me. Do I just keep practising? I've gotten down the 3D
>>
>>4251547
From what I've seen, less depth is often a good thing. It seems people get too caught up in injecting as much contrast as possible, rather than making it as realistic or believable as possible. Hair is probably the best example, bangs shouldn't be two feet away from her face. Another example would be breasts that are extruded cylinders, rather than actually round.
>>
>>4251580
The same happens to me if I try it with my laptop. I got no problem when i use my phone tho. Does that happen to anyone too?

it really is a practice thing, don't know if its actually good for your eyes though, it always makes mine tired. But with the higher quality ones just try to line it up long enough and you eye will catch on to it, you can get it so you could actually forget you're crossing your eyes

In theory it should work for every doujin, though my rather limited set of PS abilities puts a limit to what I can and cannot do. The fan-colored page was easy to do (if a lot of work on the retouching) because the colors aren’t hard to copy. Take the attached picture as an example. It’s unedited in that I only put in the depth aspect and have not yet filled in the resulting white space, and I don’t really know how to simulate the dot-structure the artist uses in the background. (Most notably in the top panel.)

That’s pretty much the ceiling I hit so far.

The screen is too fucking small, you could hardly see anything if re-sizing and it wouldn't look nice because 50% of the screen would be wasted space. Here is a mock-up, how it would look in real life. In conclusion, landscape images look better on 3DS while portrait images look better crosseye'd.
>>
>>4278025
I suppose the only way is to make the picture rotated to 90°... which can be weird to look at and actually need to redo the stereoscopic process.

Thanks!

Well it depends on

a) The picture: How many layers/objects, how the image is structured, there are many aspects how "difficult" an image can be

b) How much effort I want to put in. Most of the time I try to give the pictures as much depth as is possible, but there's always a trade-off between how much depth can be added without having to spend an eternity retouching it afterwards.

So for
>>4285965
This took only 1-2 hours in total. Picture was relatively easy, I wasn't hellbent on too much depth so I circumvented retouching completely.

But for most pictures it's probably more like 4+ hours, the one I'm posting right now probably took the longest so far because of retouching, I'm guessing somewhere between 6-10 hours? But I have some pictures in my to-do folder which will probably take longer, have to see when I find the time/motivation to do them ;)
>>
>>4286443
4+ hours for a single picture and 6-10 for the last one? Damn :/

>>
>>4290817
Yes. As you can see, there's a stereoscopy feature with a cross eyed option (meaning simply reverse left/right picture). It's much easier to get depth and for the detail, it depend on much polygon you'll use.

>>4290901
The re-corrected Ahri one and every webm from this thread.
>>

Well the only places that accept loli are /b/ and /trash/.
/d/ might be fine for homo stuff as well as /y/ and I don't know offhand what ss is for or what places it would be acceptable at.

If you were planning on creating a bunch of 3d conversions I'm sure those places wouldn't mind, although /b/ might be too quick.

If something is already in 3D then you can. Look at your index finger. Close one eye, then do the same for the other. You'll notice your vision looks slightly different. So you ARE able to make both images from a single 3D image.
>>
>>4292809
>to make both images from a single 3D image.
In order to do 3D, you just have to do 3D... best logic ever !
>>
>>4292809
I was referring to the artist doing the conversion controlling the depth of the image. It looks like if you modeled the image in blender it would be easier to change the depth of the images it creates, rather than dealing with multiple layers of objects and correcting any whitespace that's created like >>4241053 shows.
>>
>>4290544
Any hints on how to do this? Looks interesting.
>>
Requesting this fine piece of art
>>
>>4293554
>>4296412
The way I did that was to act like you gonna make a hybrid animation (or puppet animation if you like). From that, I have different body part on different layers.
Once done, I import those layer using a personal script and, instead of applying the texture in a regular way, I use a virtual projector placed on the same location/rotation than the camera.
From that, you can use the edit tool to generate basic depth and sculpt tool to add a bit of volume and rounded shape on your layers (like breast and thick legs).

I suppose you can skip the layering part using a single picture with some depth but it's better to get at least 3 layer (background, body and breast) in order to get some basic acceptable results.
>>
>>4241094
>>4241114
IMO the mirror fucks the picture up and looks more like a window than a mirror. Basically reflections of those background stuff like candlesticks and that wall/door thing should be much more far away.
