Well, it's about having the option as a player. The "power", if you will, to send Sylvie down different paths. Like games which have a different ending simply depending on how well you performed against, say, bosses in RPGs.
Wing Commander had this concept, for example. If you did poorly in missions, you'd be sent down a different story path, still pretty much flashed out. And then this concept got scrapped in further installations ... but I always liked the concept.

From my admittedly limited knowledge about the programming language I'd say that this language does not require definitions, Variables work a bit like they work in Perl without "use strict" - you can use and set them as you please. And if you have a typo in their names, it's your problem.
But because unset variables are undefined, Ray initializes them before usage. Technically that is not a definition, but it's usable after this anyways.

The 1.17 version of the game I was originally playing seemed to have a lot more of the in-game text translated to the point where with the functionality that version entailed was flawless with the exception of the, "Search for ingredients" node in the forest options.
Since upgrade to 1.30 though, I've noticed a lot of that original text is no longer translated, and appears as moon runes. Did I install the patch wrong? I thought it was just standard copy/paste procedure, but I'm not exactly an expert as far as indie h-games go.

The code was a bit messy DESU, so I cleaned it up. Got rid of all the ugly checks for the dress, instead created the local variable "nude" (or whatever I wish was local in this programming language), so that we could use this status in later versions. Inserted indention and added some missing commas.

Remnants from the age when I had better designed code and it wouldn't work with this crappy script language. In that age I thought that I can have just one nice and big "nude" block in which we could just ask for all possible lust levels of Sylvie.
And then the previous age dawned, and a new age arose, and I realized that this game has the most simple if-else system I have ever seen across everything. And I kept this most ugly code in it, because I am dumb and was tired.
And this morning, when I go ahead and fix some of the more obvious stuff in the scripts (there is a macro now, set_if_nude, which stores in "nude" if Sylvie is considered insufficiently clothed), I see lines like these:

That's Sylvie's name in Japanese. Everything that is not an expression in this script language is output, and the game expects a string whenever someone is saying something to be shown in the menu bar.
シルヴィ is the string for Sylvie, so it shows "Sylvie" in it.
(The translator replaces the katakana with her English name before you see it in-game - just in case you wondered).

OK, I just had another idea.
Constantly checking for f.lust > 300 or > 400 or 500 is retarded. What I am going to do is to change set_if_nude to hold the lust level with it.
If nude is 0, she has "proper attire".
If nude is 1, she's nude, but her lust is below 300.
If it's 2, she's at 300 or above. On 3 it's 400, on 500 it's 4. That way, we could change the required lust levels in one place (the macro).

I imagine it's going to play down to Sylvie being scared to death when she initially arrives. Ultimately the system may require some degree of balancing of Love and time spent with Sylvie in order to keep her mentally stable.
It's heavily emphasized that when performing fair/kind acts in the beginning, Sylvie is very afraid of what is to happen to her. She's come from a situation of being provided only the barest of essentials and having to pay those back by experiencing extreme physical pain for her previous master's pleasure, so when she's given so many things, she's deathly afraid of how she's going to be forced to pay them back hence why she insists that she only wants bare essentials.
This would extend and flesh out the aspect of having to gain Sylvie's trust by gradually having her warm up to you and learn that the behavior isn't normal.
Trying to push forward too quickly with your relationship could result in either Sylvie running away, commiting suicide, or falling very ill.
So basically, you'll be forced to treat her like crap initially in order to smooth the transition between environments, and gradually become close to her before you can change how you ultimately treat her. The epitome of this route would be Sylvie's proclamation that she isn't a slave anymore.
However, getting too close to her may also be another issue. At high levels of love, Sylvie becomes only increasingly more obsessed about you. This could potentially lead to a type of abandonment syndrome where being away from the Doctor causes Sylvie extreme physical stress potentially also leading to a bad end. This prevents Love farming and encourages the player to take a more active and complicated path towards making Sylvie truly happy.
Or at least, that's how I could see it playing out.

It's a cleaned-up version of tech-supporters mod. Changes that are gameplay-related is the adjustment of the lust values (higher states are now recognized on an higher-or-equal-basis instead of an higher-basis - meaning that 100/200/300/400/500 points will suffice instead of 101/201/301/401/500). Because it's cleaner that way.

Patch-kun update! I'm leaving for work in 15 minutes (another 8-hour shift, waaai~), but there's really not much left in the TL. Most of it is annoying little things ("I bought the (insert new clothing item here" and Sylvie's reaction), plus talking to the shopkeep.
Then just a playtest to make sure it all works right, since this is my first time using the TL script instead of directly editing the scenario files. Gotta make sure that the lines flow properly. So far so good though, I'm still confident I can have 1.3.1 done before Monday.
