what do you think about this album art im working on for my friends band.
(the right shape-thingy was imposed by a band member, I had to design around it)
the right half of the image is the album cover, the left part is the back cover

Left side looks a lot better than the right side, the band member should stick to the drums and leave the creative decisions to someone else.
In the end is't just an album cover, could literally be anything and be fine (Beatles White Album for example)

the 3d needs to be way more subtle. it looks too obvious. maybe play with the photoshop filters or use vray/octane btw, which software are you using for 3d?

This is what i would do. Less is more etc.
both are ugly, way too much going on. the left is better than the right. the right one im just trying to figure out wtf is going on. it looks like photoshop filters smashed together. simplify the left one. you've got a nice concept there it just needs to be simplified and not so overstimulating.
