I've been searching for almost an hour now how to do this in Photoshop...

I want to cut a picture into equal pieces and shuffle each piece around. Randomly. Kind of like a puzzle.

Even better would be if I could fill in a texture grid with random pieces of a picture I have.

For instance, I have this pattern, pic related and I want all the white spaces in it filled up by random parts of another picture I have.

How?

The magic wand tool may be what you're looking for, cant remember the exact way, you can probably just have two layers and separate manually like>>263336 said
