pretty neat for practice at least, but afaik there are no 1304x605 resolution monitors in common usage

For an artist it nearly always comes down to skill in the end, not the software. So no, you can't do less with GIMP than you can with PS, but PS is still the industry standard and will continue to be so for many years.
So to not learn PS just seems foolish to me if you want to be a GD at any point in your life.

OP here, yeah, maybe I was using it ironically. But I think gimp it's not so bad, what I meant is that if you wanna take this seriously, you sould really try some better software. I just have gimp for quick stuff and pixel art.

easy, I only used GIMP in my first few years
I used to do this shit in school. Very possible. It's like Photoshop is Automatic and Gimp is manual(work arounds, but it is possible).
