I don't pay for commercial fonts. Ever.
I use them for commercial purposes.
I feel somewhat guilty.
Let the customer pay.

use open type or learn how to make them yourself. sometimes you can buy fonts really cheap if you don't buy the whole set (things like extra-condensed, extra black italic, extra light italic, etc).

The first step in designing a typeface is to define a basic concept. The next step is to create drawings.

How is anyone going to find out if you paid for them or not?

will also like to know aswell.
i guess if some type maker/owner watch his fonts (+500-1000$) being used on some cheap-ass logo it might be obvious that those were pirated. also i bet if they see their font used on some ad somewhere they might contact the client and ask if the font/fonts have been licensed, and the worst thing isn't the money but the bad reputation afterwards...

is someone going to make a new one? D:
some of the older versions of corel from the 90s came with 1000s of legit font license. Try to track one of those old versions on ebay, you can probably get it for cheap and it will be all you really need.
