>tfw you will never be this good
Really good concept, but the design is very simple.
Not impressed/10

Has he simply edited the paths of an actual ampersand or spliced part of an & together with hand drawn elements and then added the beaks etc?
>Really good concept, but the design is very simple.
I don't get the problem with that. Its a logo, its supposed to be simple. Its the concept that makes it what it is
its a nice concept shame the restaurant was a figment of the designers imaginiantion.
>>260548 this logo fails at a smaller size.
Often logos need to be legible at a small size. This logo loses meaning if you reduce it much more than the 4chan thumb size.
>>261283
This, it works for a shop sign, but on a business card or icon it loses all recognisability. a great logo can still be easily visible in 100x100 pixel size, this one just looks like a mess.
>>261285
I see what you mean. It would probably be better without the mallard legs and more simplified beaks.
go back to rebbit JD
>>261285
That's why that logo never agrees with me, the largest and clearest symbol on the entire thing is the ampersands.
The ampersand is the least important word in the company name.
>>261285
I can make it out perfectly fine at that size
>>261305
supper clear.

OP if you think that is good graphic design you should really go back and read some books.
It is a great attempt at some sort of illustration but conceptually (which graphic design MUST take into account) it is completely hollow and literal. I guess it also comes to a matter of demographics and education, but this just screams uneducated London gentrification to me.
Some people probably love it tho, we live in fucked up times...
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
>>260553
4chan will always find a way to talk crap about something, doesn't matter if it's good or bad.
>>261305
Because you already know what it looks like at full size, imagine never having seen that before, you wouldn't know what the fuck was going on.
>>261314
No, we know good stuff when we see it.
Like this.
This is pretty good.
>>261405
I like this one as well.
>>260548
This logo would be 10000000% better if they didn't build the swan and mallard into an ampersand.
>>261454
kind of like this, except spending more effort than 5 minutes in ms paint
>>261454
why? thats the good part about it actually
>>261460
this marriage only works due to the ampersand.
otherwise you could have found better ways to combine those.
its nothing wrong with a literal logo especially in this case for a restaurant. maybe the serif of the ampersand could have been more elegant

Perhaps. I still stand by the idea that the & throws off the gracefulness of the design. It was a good starting point but >>261455 carries the elegance even more than a different serif would. you can kind of see the ampersand but its not distracting.
You should see swan, mallard, then &, but the original design it went &, swan, then mallard. The & isn't necessary if your mind fills in the gap between noticing the swan and then the mallard.
The ampersand and swan.
