Depends on the negotiation you had with the client - it's not always possible to do 2 hours of conceptualizing before you begin building.

Half life's logo literally means the logo though and is god tier IMO but its hard to make such godliness when the name of the thing you're creating doesn't have a lot to work with...

That's where creativity comes in as this guy is saying. I find that analyzing the thing you are trying to brand for works wonders in figuring out what you can play with.

Lambda is used in the half-life equation to represent the decay constant which Is the name of the brand its for Half-life
