/g/ is much more in the physical appearance of Joey, minus any technical knowledge whatsoever. Someone like Zerocool or Lord Nikon might have visited /g/ for jokes in 2008, but wouldn't ever visit /g/ post-2008 (the discussions here are more children oriented).
