>Called in by boss to troubleshoot a powerpoint presentation
>'oh yeah sure no problem'
>Notice it's somehow 126 MB large, littered with audio files of different types, gifs, and an embedded YouTube video
>Make one change, save
>Takes his brand new Optiplex 7040 30 seconds to save the presentation
>'by the way anon, (manager) also needs help with one'
>Realize it's going to be a long day
Tell me of your work woes, fellow drones
Sounds rough.
I'm a student so I've been home playing vidya all week.
>i forget how, but it becomes known i'm good at image editing (have used gimp/photoshop more than the average person, but that should tell you everything)
>boss wants me to edit some timestamps on some footage captures (probably not something legal, but that's not my problem)
>liked my work, so they had the bright idea to do all their safety/warning signs printed in-house
>they buy a $20,000 54" vinyl printer and laminator
>came complete with a small on-site training course from Roland, pretty fancy
>they have me operate it, had never even worked with vector imagery before
>they even have me draw the signs given only a book of examples, with tiny thumbnails in it
>before i know it, instead of doing IT, i'm now scanning, tracing, printing, laminating, and sometimes applying vinyl safety/warning signs
at least the pay was good
OP calls this 'work'
lol

I just got approval for autism bux so I bought some new anime plushies
I sit in front of a laptop all day and tell my boss(es) how much some item is and how many are there; also I keep track of what arrives and what is sold.
Besides the software I wrote for this, I'm being paid for reading and changing numbers on a screen, literally.
