What software can you recommend to integrate updates into a Windows 7 SP1 ISO?
>>
This morning i booted up my pc and it went to a grey screen with only the cursor visible.

Googling tells me it's probably my video card. I hope to god its the driver, as the card is only a few months old.

Thing is, it doesn't boot to bios so I'm not sure if i can run it in safe mode. im at work now so i can't check it.

Am i fucked? I suppose the course of action would be to try a second monitor, and if that fails try to boot up in safe mode and reinstall the driver or system restore. Then try and take the card out and stick it back in.

I'm stressing cuz i don't want to deal with sending the card back to evga.

It's a 960 gt 2 gig.

Am i fucked? It was working last night.

Gaymers are worse and more cancerous than weeaboos, and gaymer gear should all be banned from /g/ and contained to /v/. That includes any GPUs that aren't Quadro/FirePro/Professional equivalents. Much like Razer products are.

Do you agree?

Does anyone know AHK? I have a strange bug (pic and code related).

^q::
wingetpos,,,width,height,ahk_exe chrome.exe

For some reason, wingetpos detects chrome's window height to be 64px, when the mouse cursor is hovering over any clickable element.
The above code produces the .gif, when spamming ctrl+q.
Can anyone try and confirm this bug? I really need the window height of chrome, even when hovering an element. no idea what causest his.

I know this is more of a question for a 13 year old to ask in youtube comments, but why the hell do I get so much lag in online games?

I'm currently using a TP-Link TL-WN822N adapter and a Netgear c3700.

I think the problem is my adapter because my roommate has no issue with the internet and he connected to the same router I am. After checking the TP-Link website it said the adapter I am currently using has 11N speed. I honestly have no idea what that means.

Should I get a faster adapter? What is the ideal for smooth gaming? I really know next to nothing on this topic.

Again, sorry for the ridiculously childish question. I really just need some simple help.

I tried again, this time showing x, y, width and height information, along with displaying it next to the Window Spy tool.
Window Spy tool shows it all correctly. However, the WinGetPos function still bugs when hovering over an element and now shows completely wrong values.
height is always 64 when hovering over an element, width a certain fraction of the original width, x is increased by about 3, and y is increased by a certain percentage of the window height.
What the hell is going on?

Try booting off of a installation CD/DVD/USB stick like Win7 install or Ubuntu live system, that will at least tell you if the video card is completely trashed. However a faulty GPU will usually display some kind of weird grid (at least for memory errors), sounds like a broken operating system (HDD failure?)

Puting GAME on your SSD,wont matter because SSD is loading data to RAM which isnt as fast as SSD, so there is a bottleneck as DATA is being written in to RAM for your area around your character

The difference between the loading speed en route between the RAM and SSD, and RAM and HDD, does make a significant loading time difference in real time,
because that's also a significant step between the source files and the processing units on the CPU or GPU respectively,

Thanks a lot familia, it works for me too and saved me from some very ugly workarounds.
What makes it work is the ",Chrome" at the end.
Just to learn, according to the help page, that ,Chrome is the WinText argument, which checks for visible text in the window.
According to Window Spy, the visible text of Chrome is "Chrome Legacy Window", and that's how it identifies the proper process. This is how it works, right?

You are right about the WinText argument

I don't know how Chrome works internally, could very well work like that. I just assumed the WindowText would help identify the correct process (the one with the high height), the 64px window was obviously some kind of hidden

Also the temporary fix I've used until now is bending the headphone jack on a pair of $1 headphones from walmart so it can reach the now depressed in right headphone connection, but it's not something I want to do to my nice headphones so I'm looking at a permenant fix since said $1 headphones aren't going to last much longer.

Are you getting paid every day? I'd get it if this were the case but my man if you're getting commissions at the end of certain periods of time, inputting:

- the hours you worked for the client
- the pay you received

is 3 columns.

I'd also get it if you had a massive backlog of payments you needed to catalog. I did some footwork searching around because I was curious as well, but you're gonna have to suck it up like >>54514401 said and work in Excel. It's pretty "fun" considering the data entry aspect of it.

Like I said, I did a little google searching on my own because I was curious, but the software that I saw is mainly touted around tracks debts you owe and the funds in your bank account (i.e., Quicken).

https://secure.budgettracker.com/login.php?sp=nouser
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aspiring.incometracker&hl=en
https://brandonsoft.com/incometracker.html

That's the best I came up with, but the first requires some form of login, the second is an app, and the third is something someone cooked up in their spare time. I'd still agree with the guy you're buttblasted at and say use Excel or get/hire someone to make an Excel spreadsheet for you for safety reasons.

Honestly ? It doesn't really matter to real world performance, but the middle is technically the best scenario there. Whatever you do though, the faster RAM will be underclocked to match the slower RAM's speeds, which... You also probably won't notice in any real world scenarios.

I have a Windows 7 PC I built 4 years ago. It started running chkdsk upon booting, and said a drive needed to be tested for consistency. I would've skipped the disk check but I was putting away groceries so it started automatically. While checking the disk it said something like "deleting orphaned files," then later said some files were restored. Eventually it didn't seem to be doing anything so I just did a force shut down because I was worried it was going to start deleting files for no reason.

Now whenever I start a program I get a notification on the start bar that says, for example, "foobar2000.exe - corrupt file. The file or directory C:\Windows\Prefetch is corrupt or unreadable. Please run the chkdsk utility." Then the program starts normally, but I think things are running slowly.

Do you think my hard drive is failing or is it a problem with the motherboard? I already ordered another hdd because I want to back up my stuff anyway, if it's a hard drive problem do you think it'll last at least until the new hdd ships?

Also, should I actually reboot and run chkdsk? Or should I wait for the new hard drive to arrive, back up everything, and then run chkdsk? I'm worried if I let it run chkdsk it's going to delete my shit for no reason.

Is it at all possible for software to make WiFi connection weak?

I got a new phone the other day, WiFi worked fine and I was without issues. I went to root it and flashed some stock, rooted files with no other changes and for some reason, ever since, my WiFi signal on my phone is really poor. Most of the time it shows zero bars and sometimes I pick it up and it's just not connected at all and takes a while to connect again.

I'm not sure if it's my WiFi or the phone itself. Any ideas? One thing to note is that I'm in the UK and the stock image I flashed was more of a generic one as opposed to a UK one, but that supposedly shouldn't matter

What's the problem here?

Let it run its course.Shutting it down abruptly can corrupt your filesystem(which it seems to be)
Shut down and go to the windows screen and run a full chkdsk
orphans are just lost inodes that need to be reset or delted, this is normal.

I think it is a problem of you shutting down things when they need to run,or just flat out not running them when they need to be ran.

shutdown
chkdsk

Is it? I didn't know. I'm just asking this because most of the time people use mega to send files to each other and I just wanted to know in terms of privacy and security if it is ok to use the Firefox extension or the app. Thanks for the warning though

So I bought a Lenovo G50‑45 80E3 about a year ago and it has been the most unpleasant laptop experience I've ever had. I've heard of people getting ThinkPads and enjoying them, but I've had no such luck. This thing is now literally falling apart. Is Lenovo terrible, or did I just get a lemon?
