What do you do against surveillance by governments, especially by the NSA?
>>
>>51220387
Install Gentoo.
Use Startpage/DuckDuckGo (not google search).
Use Firefox (not chrome), and set it up so cookies are erased when closed.
Install Adblock+ and Disconnect on it.
Used Nokia Here (not google maps).
Use OmniCloud (not google docs).
Use ProtonMail (not gmail. and keep your ddos memes, it's actually very good).
Use Jitsi or Tox (not skype).
More generally, avoid american brands, be it for hardware or software (e.g. use a Jolla/Bq smartphone).

Nothing's entirely secure except getting rid of all tech, but that's already a good start.
>>
Don't use Firekek thats terrible advice, it reports every url you visit by default.

Use pretty much any webkit-gtk based browser instead.
>>
>>51220387
If you have a facebook, shut it down, that should help a lot already
>>
>>51220608
You know your isp can see your web traffic?
>>
>>51220652
>not encrypting, then tunneling your traffic

>avoid american brands
no x86, great! /s
>>
>>51220573
>Adblock+
You mean uBlock Origin.
>Disconnect
Someone mentioned that it's better to use uMatrix, which has an option for enabling Disconnect scripts.
>ProtonMail
I also recommend Tutanota or GhostMail.
>>
>>51220573
More or less this, but instead of Nokia Here I use OpenStreetMaps
For muh surveillance device
>SMSSecure
>Signal (TextSecure/Redphone replacement)
>OSMAnd~
>UnifiedNLP using a local backend

I would avoid Tox and just use Jitsi, Tox is pretty bad, though Jitsi is Javabloat, you can use Pidgin+OTR plugin

I dont care because i dont watch child porn OP
>>
>>51220652
I meant that it reports them, not in the meme sense of oh it leaked my ip and dns requests. It sends the request to Google to see if it should display a scam/malware warning.
>>
literally nothing
>>
>>51220652
Headers, probably not SSL connections unless they have nation state power, i.e. NSA.
>>
>>51220652
I have always wondered, in what level of detail do they log?
>>
>>51220387
Not be retarded
>>
>>51222199
Packet headers for sure, however I'm sure they don't log actual contents of said packets... Mostly because encrypted payloads are unless without keys. Encrypted payloads (ie. http) perhaps.

How about public wifi with a random mac adress and Tor?
>>
>>51226774
>public wifi

using public wifi to evade surveillance is one of the most fucking stupid things you can do. using tor on public wifi makes it even worse.

seriously, did you really fall for that meme
>>
>>51226803
What's wrong with public wifi when spoofing mac and tunneling?

The best way is to give your unconditional support for the surveillance state. This way they see it doesn't work.
>>
>>51222199

look up netflow. verizon even sells access to it under their "netintel" program.

Setup fake identity in plain sight. Facebook, win10 with no security fixes, steam, the works.

Use tails and the coffee shop wifi across the street and library down the street for actual nefarious actions.

>>51220387
run everything on tor live dvds signed with the tor chain of trust, in a pc without hdds
if you need to safe something outside of the memory, you should use disposable and easily destroyable flashdrives
encrypt them anyways

uninstall all google apps
uninstall gapps

connect to the internet as little as possible
randomly monitor your network packets every now and then
>>
>>51232593
What exactly is supposed to be "wrong" with Adblock Plus?

Acceptable Ads. They go against the reason for what you actually downloaded ABP. Also: Tries to earn money by forcing website owners to pay to get accepted as a website with "acceptable ads".

> paying to much

propably youre also using dropbox and all of the cloud shit. A Mac doesn't make you anonymous, idiot.
