Is there a way to call through Whatsapp's VoIP service or the regular phone on demand?

I mean, just use the 'phone app' to make a call, then check if it's possible to call through Whatsapp and do so. If it's not possible (elderly, landline number, etc) then call normally.

I've seen my Cyanogenmod has a simmilar option, but asks for a SIP account.

I think it should be much easier, and somebody sure has written some kind of wrapper for both apps. Am I mistaken? Which is the least painful way to achieve this.

I'm asking for my mother. I could tell her to call through Whatsapp whenever possible, but she doesn't pay any attention.

Also make sure your PSU can handle the new components you're stuffing in there.
>>

Given I bought a new PSU with the card and it's running my PC right now, it's fine

the issue is just that my BIOS is too old for my card, putting it in yields literally nothing but the acer logo.

How do I update the BIOS manually? That sounds really dangerous

I bought a new mobo and cpu then plugged my hard drive in and it wont boot up windows. I get to the windows screen and then it blue screens. I assume the issue is it needs the new drivers installed.
I've pulled out some cheap hard drive and installed windows fresh but i'd like to get my old drive working. i've currently got the old drive piggybacked. I of course have the cd that came with the mobo and I can dl any drivers off of gigabyte's website if need be.
My question is, how do I update my old hard drives drivers when it's in this state? There's got to be a way, I now have full access to it as a secondary drive.

nigga you missed what I said

ACER hasn't updated the BIOS since 2012, I have the most updated version installed. Since 900 series Nvidia cards came after 2012, the BIOS does not recognize the card and my computer won't boot at all. I've checked the ACER website for drivers for G3620 mobos.

Likely because I'm trying to build off a pre-built rig, they figured no one would upgrade a pre-built rig and never updated the BIOS.

Hi

I know there was the last_known_google_url option in the settings file in /data/data/com.chromium.chrome/app_chrome/default/preferences, but it seems to be gone now. So I'm an engineer by trade, and recently applied for a planning job. At the interview they found out I know database design/SQL queries/SAP/ERP stuff and decided to put me in data management instead since they just had 1 opening occur within the week that I was applying.

I haven't done any database work since 2nd year university (4 years ago)

Is this like an "IT" job, or did I do well getting a better job? The guy who hired me seemed to think it was a better position within the company and had much more room for growth, given that the planning department is like 40 people.

Database design > planning/scheduling?

Sweet, that's kind of what I wanted to hear.

Do you have any recommendations on books for brushing up on database design/sql?

I think they do most of the actual design within Access, but use Oracle to handle big data sets.

Is there a /g/-recommended text for databases and ERP/ERM systems? (Or just a generally accepted "best" book, similar to CLRS)

Also, any other protips? I'm a little worried about starting this position since I've been out of practice for a while

After finding out that if someone could get a hold of my hard drives, they could see all my porn w/o needing to sign into Windows. I decided to buy another drive -> encrypt it -> move all my porn to it & make a shortcut to my other drives.

The only problem is every time I turn my computer on & try to access that drive through my short cuts, I need to log in every time to be able to access that drive.

Bitlocker says it can make it so I don't have to do that, but I have to also encrypt the drive with Windows on it to have that option.

If I do that, will I have any issues when starting the computer up?

Like what if Windows doesn't boot because it's encrypted, and I can't log in because there's nothing to log into.

AIO cooling is fine, if you overclock its perfect, its far quieter then air cooling for overclocking.
>>
UPDATE:
I just tried using the activity manager widget, and got no response. This seems to indicate that activity manager is in fact not working.

How can I fix it?

>>54036152

It serves no purpose for OC.You will get the same results with air.The fans on most AIO are louder then even stock fans.
If you want water cooling get a custom loop.

i recommend a SSD to install your OS on. it's not a meme, it's pretty good.
i'd hold back on those fans, you most likely won't need them and you can get them later
PSU is a great choice, will handle two GPUs if you want an the current corsair gen is finally fully modular
>>
>>54036240
I have had a H60 like he wants to buy and the supplied fan on the radiator never run over 45% under full load with the CPU being steady at 55C under a 4.8GHz overclock (from 3.5).

Had a Noctua before that with a 140mm fan and at full load the fan would go full speed with a temperature around 60C.

Also the pump makes no noise whatso ever, where the fuck does the meme come from that its noisy, I ran the pump solo and I didn't heat it after I was like 30cm away from it.

Custom loop is of course the best idea if you know and can afford it, but AIO is good for pulling lots of heat away from your CPU.

You didnt have optimal air flow.
Positive or negative?

My brother had a d14 with a AMD FX-9370 that i built with him.He saw a AIO and JUST HAD to have it about a month later, despite his air setting being fine with no issues with sound.

His AIO ran 12 degrees hotter then with his d14
Ran with pre applied thermal paste and with artic.

AIO are good for lazy 12yo gaymer that has to brag about his epeen.Thats about it

Ah, I get it. There is no kactivitymanagerd.service file on my system.

>>
>>54036364
No not your .desktop
Your /etc/systemd/system/*
or /usr/systemd/system/*
Throw your service file in /usr if it isnt in /etc.Or you can run it as a user with ~/.config/systemd/user.
And run it via systemctl --user <service file>
>>
>>54036407
Download the tar.gz and find the service file in it,or try reinstalling it to force it to add it. Or your build isnt setup properly and dosent throw the service file in to your system
>>
>>54036383
The air flow is that the CPU heatsink exhaust always gets blown out at the of the case with the case fan, having another fan pushing air throw the heatsink, because I cant fit another fan between the heatsink and the case fan anyways.

Well, a D14 would not fit my case anyways. But a AIO H60 fit the case nicely with the radiator at the back where the case fan was.

I've got openSUSE Tumbleweed, and it's been working fine since the latest updates. Maybe this has something to do with it?
http://download.opensuse.org/tumbleweed/repo/oss/suse/x86_64/kactivitymanagerd-5.6.2-1.1.x86_64.rpm

Object not found.

Yet when I try installing it with Zypper I get:

Need advice on a laptop.

Thinking on picking this up (asus ux305fa).
Will use it for programing, mostly web stuff. Will be using VM's or docker containers, so I'm wondering if M-5Y10 with 8gb RAM can handle it.

Currently using an 2010 MBA with core 2 duo /8gb ram / ssd, which is kinda slugish sometimes ( when starting up VM's).

Any advice?

I just tried installing the package through YAST and it suddenly existed. Added OSS repository for openSUSE meanwhile although there are no new updates so I probably don't need it. Didn't fix the problem though, even after a reboot. Perhaps I missed YAST detecting it was already installed or something.

Regardless, pic related for the contents of the kactivitymanagerd package.

opensuse must do shit differently then most other distros.Thats non standard. Youll need to check your distros systemd and how its services are handled

I'm at a loss really.

Actually, perhaps it's supposed to be the .desktop file, but it seems systemd is looking for a .service file.
>>
>>54036673
Yup, I'm on the right path I think.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=287039

I tried moving the .desktop to the directory mentioned there, and I tried renaming it to .service, and I tried renaming it where it originally were, but still no luck after reloading with systemctl.

I guess next step is filing a bug report?

>>54036727
Copying the .desktop file as a .service file to /etc/systemd/system/ just yields an invalid argument error.

This is witcher 3 benchmark from notebookcheck. Why am i using witcher 3? Because it's one of the most demanding games out there. Why am I doing that? Because you're buying a computer for the future, not just right now. What if a new game comes out that you really want to play but it runs like shit on a 970m? Then you'll be playing it 1080p 40fps on medium or something. When 800 pounds can get you a monstrous desktop comparatively.
