MPDN is a modern extensible media player written in .NET (with performance critical parts in ASM/SSE2) featuring a fully integrated high quality Direct3D 9, 10, 11 video renderer that is equally extensible. In fact, its most powerful features come from its open source community contributed extensions called MPDN Extensions hosted on GitHub. Both madVR and MPV use portions of code from MPDN Extensions.

If you're running a recent version of Windows, there is literally no reason to subject yourself to this mpv bullshit. None!

mpv can magically extract video streams from almost any webpage.

You can use the "Open with..." Firefox extension and point mpv to a website and just watch the stream without ads or other bullshit.

That's a killer feature and almost the only feature I can't live without, desu, and MPDN presumably doesn't have it.
>>
>If you're running a recent version of Windows, there is literally no reason to subject yourself to this mpv bullshit. None!
I use Windows at home, FreeBSD while I travel , and OS X at work. I use mpv on all of them because it's the same player and functions exactly the same across all the platforms I use. I only have to configure it once and I have the exact player I want everywhere, I can't see any reason to use a different player with a different configuration for each platform.

Lmao, the mpv threads make it seem as if there isn't any alternative. There is and I wanted to share it.

Frankly I don't give a fuck if you think I'm microshilling considering it's not my software.

Just sick of the herp mpv is best for everything crap when it's not true.
>>
>>53930188
Just because it's an alternative does not make it a better alternative by default, what kind of logic is that?
>>
>>53930203
That was not my reasoning though.
>>
I will admit it was a little short-sighted with reference to the things others have pointed out in this thread. Even a little bit hyperbolic. :)
>>
>>53930219
I didn't say it was, but you haven't laid out any reasoning, you have however said that you should use it without giving a reason as to why it's supposed to be better. If you want people to switch you have to demonstrate why it would be worth it.
>>
>>53930244
Yes I know... Truth is, I made this thread then realised some people can't/won't read/investigate for themselves and I'd have to spoon feed the whole way, and I just don't care that much to do it.

Otherwise there's this; http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=171120
>>
>>53927535
Can it do interpolation like mpv?
>>
>>53930536
It's called fluidmotion in MPDN and for me it looks much better than in mpv or madVR.
>>
This player is fucking good but mpv is still the best.
>>
>>53927535
>>53931134
it has 18 files while mpv has only 3 in its zip... despite the file count mpdn still needs extra codecs to play certain files, while mpv does not.

feels very bricky
despite having some good features its still not close to mpv, just sain.

Into the trash it goes, staying with Windows Media Player + codecs. At least it´s not fucking ugly.

How is an interpreted/JIT'd language going to be faster than a compiled one?

Checkmate, MPDN fags. Mpv wins again.
>>
>>53930157
No it can't. You have to give it a direct link the vast majority of the time unless all you watch is youtube.
>>
>>53936893
It's worked on every site I've tried it on so far, including sites I didn't think it would work on.

Many porn sites, for example.
>>
>>53936893
It works with whatever youtube-dl works with, which is a lot of sites

>>
Why is this better than MPC-HC?
I've never had a problem with it.
>>
>>53936938
Yeah I should give youtube-dl more credit. Still, it doesn't work for most of the sites I use a lot. Just getting the direct link is a lot more reliable.
