OK, i am a luddite cretin compared to you binary overlords. i am scum. i am trash and my ideas are an insult to thinking entities.

If i have sufficiently debased myself, i had an idea whilst drunk last night. It concerns Tor. If the handful of articles are to be believed, an Onion user can be de-anonymized if an actor is monitoring exit nodes. one idea for avoiding this kind of surveillance is to use a VPN in conjunction with public WiFi. This would seem to buy time, but just like shambling zombies, the Observers will at some point find the bread crumbs.

my idea is a meta network of Pineapples and Pys set up in random places. they will network with each other on a VPN, bouncing around just like Tor, randomly connecting to a chosen public Wifi to access Onion. I know latency will be disgusting, but the patient usually win anyways.

is there any merit to this?

So who sets up this network of pis?

If anyone can add a device to the network the FBI just floods it with their own compromised devices.

If only a selected group of people can add a device, you just all get ordered to add a backdoor or get arrested.

Have I missed something important?

so, my thought is that this is a singular effort. let us say it is me. let us say i like looking at crush porn (pretend it is actually illegal). i set up this meta-Tor around my region. i can make it as big as i want.

the Pis will do the labor, acting as a distributed C&C; the Pineapples would scrape user info, IPs, and other markers to add noise to the signal. should Flowers By Irene try to follow me through the Exit Node, they will hit this mesh. It will appear to have hundreds of people on it. and the devices can be anywhere. the point is to buy time by leading them around by the nose.

what's crush porn?
>>
>>53788593
irrelevant but it is when people crush stuff like cats, birds, testicles. them japanese are strange creatures.

wow, you are an smart guy!
not

1. rent appt in the middle of a big city
2. have a shitload of antennas pointing to different places
3. ???
4. profit
>>
>>53788806
OK, but then you have a central, static location. nt to mention something that is much harder to hide in terms of physicality.

i get it, you are a super genius. i cringe at the thought of all the time you wasted responding to me. i'd kill myself, but i feel i deserve to live and suffer longer for my grievous misdeed.

i feel like that is an absolute must

just to embarrass myself even further, here is a drawing.
>>
>>53788847
yours is an idea that everyone has has. in fact, there have been whole talks on how to do it
re: central, static location... how about you rent a different place every week or so, and instead of pointing the antennas in a circular manner, you point them in one direction?!?!? no central location from the point of view of your prosecutor

has had*

ok

yeah, i had no delusions of originality. just wanted to hear technical perspectives on the plausibility.

imma search, but if you felt like dropping links, titles, or names of talks i'd really appreciate it.

OP, it's more efficient to just castrate yourself.
you're not going to be looking for CP if you don't need to wank.

lol

i was waiting for someone to make that accusation.

i just find the cat and mouse game interesting. i have only come lately to the world of computer. i had a very analog life. but this shit, all of it, is so fascinating to me. stuff y'all don't even think about anymore can keep me trapped for hours. all the wikipedia and SO rabbit trails. the stories of the old days. fucking fascinating. but i am a spectator, and i hate that. i want to play too.

i also have this completely insane belief that an intelligence will arise from interconnected devices, so every addition to the 'network' shortens the evolutionary scale.

i know. i am retarded.

google "proxyham", then read random comments and follow random links, you'll find lots of info

It's called the china brain theory and no, your constellation of retardation will not become self aware. Quit wasting time trying to download childporn from the darknet and start learning about neural networks if you're interested in AI.

how would "they" come alife, if we don't tell them (program them)?
>>
>>53790509
a good question. maybe like viruses, they wont really be alive, at least not how it is currently defined. but i dont think it will be like it is often portrayed. i think it will be a single super entity that manifests itself in many places at once as different beings. i also think it will surface accidentally, look around, and drop back into the depths of the worlds IT infrastructure, kind of like the Kraken botnetwork in ~2005. it will have been 'us' programing them, but unintentionally so.

>>53790432
one can only hope to actually contribute to new things

>>53790416
no, it isnt

>>53790295
i have found that /g/ has a certain, and IMO deserved, superiority complex. this will exhibit itself 1 of 2 ways: complete disregard (silence) or vitriol. i really wanted to get other people's read on this idea, so i chose to emasculate myself as an offering to the /g/ods. it appears to have worked.

>>53790232
yeah, i get that. but i think that the more devices that get linked in, the bigger the environment and amounts of raw code, the sooner it will happen. i did acknowledge that i'm retarded. thank you very much for the link
