Any recommended cases that fit multiple gpus?

If you really need dual gpu, get radeon pro, sli as well as gsync and every other hardware related stuff from nvidia is inferior and more expensive than amd's equivalent

Put the Motherboard on there as a last minute placeholder, won't be buying Processor, Motherboard, or GPU until May at the earliest.

Any and all advice is appreciated. Is it safe to daisy chain the exhaust fan with a fan for the bottom half of the case?

If I were you, I would be purchasing an EVGA, Zotac or Asus 980 Ti rather than SLI 980s. Looks like a good build overall.
>>
>>53560854
Thanks for the advice. I'm mainly considering two 980s vs one 980ti because I will use this for training ML models, not gaming.

Wait few months. Usually you should get shit as soon as you need it but nigga, few months before there is a new generation with a VASTLY improved manufacturing process.

Good, it's overpriced piece of shit. Case is way too pricey too and no SSD? What the fuck. Also who the fuck buys Windows.

Holy shit my man, you are the worst at this shit. Stick to prebuilts.

Well it's given, much better cards will be there. How about buying just one 1080 at start and going SLI when the prices go down/you can afford it?

It's a small case. Why would I use the stock heatsink to blow the heat all over the place?

>Gigabyte motherboard
Okay.

>1600MHz RAM when 1866 is literally 50 cents more expensive
Mobo doesn't support 1866.

>2 HDDs, one with 1TB and the other with 4TB
Not sure what the moan is here.

>REFERENCE DESIGN GPU
IT'S BETTER FOR THIS CASE

>ricer shit fans
Got me there.
>>
Since we're in a PC partpicker thread, let's start the competition.
Each of these are built from scratch. You start with a keyboard, mouse, and monitor. You must purchase a case and HDD, assume free OS.

1)
Build the best machine possible for $350.00 with the most room for upgrades in the future.

2)
Best machine for $500.00. Just like #1, has the ability to upgrade in the future to a much better machine.

3)
Best machine for $1000.00. Best ability to upgrade in the future.

Reference CPU cooler will keep your CPU under 50ÂșC on load, while the reference GPU cooler will be as hot as 80 or 90 under load.

>Mobo doesn't support 1866.
Then don't get a shit Gigabyte mobo.

>>2 HDDs, one with 1TB and the other with 4TB

It's stupid as fuck. You also can't use any kind of RAID without making 3TB of the 4TB disk completely useless.

You're retarded, pham. Back to /v/ with you.

I.e. 980 and 1080
>>
>>53561598
Things I had in mind while making this build.

1. Need to be able to game most titles at ultra 1080p

2. Future proofing (Therefore the RAM, CPU, Cooler etc.)

3. Getting a mid-high range GPU but ultimately waiting for Polaris or Vega.

4. Mid to high workstation stuff, editing videos, music etc. I just wanted shit to be able to process quick.
>>
>>53561482
Already have my computer, just fun to watch what other people build.

Working on building a new rack with some old r710s right now. Might be interesting to do a cheapskate server build thread
>>

Shit's overpriced as fuck in some of those, but it's a good setup.

You could cheap out a bit there, but otherwise, it's gr8

>>
>>53561550
Look, if you had looked into it t all you would understand why a reference card is the only way to go in the NCase..

I already have the Mobo from a previous build

I am not planning on doing any kind of raid. I just needed some more storage.
>>
>>53561631
Nah, doubtful, I meant two 1080, anon.

Why e3-1231 instead of e3-1241?
>>
>>53562320
Budget limitations. Besides, anything from entry i5 on would be bored in most tasks.
>>
>>53562393
Huh. So why xeon e3 over i5 then? Just because you're in musing a discrete graphics card?
>>
>>53562927
Perhaps one day a PC exclusive game comes out that will benefit from it, although i5 and more expensive GPU would be probably better when looking at near future.

Assuming we talk about a PC with gayming as main aim of course.
>>
>>53562978
Eh. Gaymen is overrated.
>>
>>53563459
They certainly are but this is what most PP stuff is about, not? If your grandpa want to watch 1080p horse porn, he would be better of with a laptop, if your granny just wants to own noobs in CS, some sub 500 build with APU and SSD is the way, yidda, yadda.
>>
>>53562026
Nice
>>
>>53563655
I unsderstand your intentions are good... but you infuriate me. What is research, what is data science. What is virtual reality, what is science. There are more uses for powerful computers than autistic Gaymen fags.
>>
>>53563738
>What is research, what is data science. What is virtual reality, what is science.
Usually the people who need a PC for that, know enough about the hardware needed, and obviously have more specific needs too, say CUDA or muh 32GB RAM.

Obviously there are tons of uses for powerful computers, even some super mainstream tasks like video editing and le Photoshop can use nice hardware (and specially screens), but most people in such threads care about gaymer rigs and muh 60FPS.

That's what I was thinking of upgrading to. What do you guys think? I think I can sell my current build for about 550, so I'd only be paying about 300 out of pocket. Thoughts?
>>
>>53564602
Where does the other 250 come from
>>
>>53564317
If mainly a gaymer, drop the i7 for an i5 or roll with a Xeon (basically i7 without integrated graphics, hence cheaper) Also overclocking such a power CPU is pretty moot. There are probably more affordable 980s. Otherwise pretty solid.
>>
>>53564602
But why? You won't notice the difference between the CPUs. What do you need more RAM for and why not just getting another stick?

The only upgrade that makes sooomehow sense is the GPU and even that should rather wait.
>>
>>53564670
You make a good point. I found a R9 390 on Craigslist for $250. Should I take that deal or wait? Also, I need more ram cause I'm constantly running out of memory on the flight sims that i play. So I'll just buy 2x8 sticks.
>>53564615
Well I was just going off rebate value..
>>
>>53564710
Well, it's a nice price for it but in 3-4 months (I think) a MUCH better new gen comes out, in worst case scenario, it will lower the prices for current models.

Though if you really, really, REALLY need an upgrade right now and can't wait, 250 is a pretty decent price for a 390 for sure.
>>
>>53564767
I'll just upgrade memory for now then and we'll see what happens from there
>>
>>53564808
Good choice. I am sure your inner Jew approves too.
>>
My first time really upgrading my rig since like 2012 (and some of my parts are from 2009). Pretty much going for a full rebuild outside of reusing my HDDs and recent GPU (GTX 960)

I'm looking at CPUs and was interested in going big with the i76700K, but missed out on a good sale from Microcenter for $315. Now that it's back up to $350 I'm having second thoughts. How does the i7-4790K compare? Looking for future proofing so I don't need to think about shit outside of a new GPU sometime down the line

Please help my retarded ass
>>
>>53558653
>Spinpoint F3

Some of the older ones have a firmware bug with certain bios that will kill the drive.
>>
>>53564317
Get a Xeon(cheaper) and EVGA 980 should be cheaper if you know how to look.

Dunno about the motherboard.
