2. Future proofing (Therefore the RAM, CPU, Cooler etc.)

Usually the people who need a PC for that, know enough about the hardware needed, and obviously have more specific needs too, say CUDA or muh 32GB RAM.
Obviously there are tons of uses for powerful computers, even some super mainstream tasks like video editing and le Photoshop can use nice hardware (and specially screens), but most people in such threads care about gaymer rigs and muh 60FPS.

My first time really upgrading my rig since like 2012 (and some of my parts are from 2009). Pretty much going for a full rebuild outside of reusing my HDDs and recent GPU (GTX 960)
I'm looking at CPUs and was interested in going big with the i76700K, but missed out on a good sale from Microcenter for $315. Now that it's back up to $350 I'm having second thoughts.
