Brother got me a Steam Controller for my birthday.
I fucking hate it. I tried to play Space Marines with it but I ended up spending four hours configuring the controller, trying to make the right touch pad even remotely playable and gave up.
It has taken me 22 minutes to type out this OP because every time I open the keypad it blocks my view of the comment section and I can't see what I've typed and when I close it there are all sorts of errors and fixing them is a tedious, new level of hell.
Is Steam for real with this piece of crap?
It's a keylogger.
Every fucking thing you type with it is stored on Steams servers, including your porn searches.

Are you stupid? it opens the kb where you have the cursor place, do you specifically place the cursor over the comment section to whine like a pig you are?
I like the controller, it's no kb+mouse but preddy gud replacement for them for couchgaming

First, stop trying complicated games on it right off the bat. You're an idiot.
Second, start with some simple action game. Shadow of Mordor, GTA V, Assassin's Creed, etc. After you're comfortable with that, go try some simple FPS with the gyro turned on on right-pad touch.
Once you've figured out those, then it's time to try mouse-region mode. Fire up Osu! or Assault Android Cactus. It will take a bit to get the hang of but it's actually pretty nice.

Neato. Yeah that's what I meant. I remember idlers for TF2. Didn't know it was big for other games though. I always thought it'd be funny to run an idler server, running a ton of headless TF2 idlers in Wine (to separate instances, this was before native linux TF2). Users would log in, start idling, and then the admin takes a portion of the rewards

i have tons of games from giveaways and bundles that i would probably never play, so this is the only way i'd end up getting the card drops.
i've had this running for a few weeks off and on now, and i had over 1800 card drops when this started. i bought the megaman legacy collection for $15, and i think i'll still have more cards to sell after i get the steam controller. the fact that i'm selling these worthless digital cards to buy a fairly pricey physical item is both wonderful and kind of infuriating to me.

You mean in action games? It depends, you can choose whatever. If the game supports mouse and joystick input simultaneously, set the pad to a mouse. Mouse-like joystick is decent as well (especially if you don't need fine aiming). Normal joystick mode sucks for aiming, but it's actually pretty good for movement.

One more thing, avoid Fallout 4. Mouse-like joystick mode sucks for FPS, but the keyboard bindings have stupid hardcoded and overlapping mappings for some things, plus high sensitivity aiming makes it nearly impossible to use the map. So far that's one of the only games I ever use my keyboard and mouse for though desu.
