I'm interested in trackball mice, have any of you tried them? Thoughts?
Yes, I'm using one now. It works great.
If you want one because you want to reduce wrist strain, also consider a vertical mouse.

I used a $20 trackball mouse for years. I love them. I prefer the ones where the trackball is under your pointer finger as opposed to thumb.

Just got it.. I find i can't rest my hand on it because the right click is too sensitive... prefer the vertical ankur mouse from amazon
