I got 8gb ram in 2010, never looked back, still haven't upgraded it either. If I was building new I'd be putting in 16gb at the absolute minimum

What did you even do with your computer?
I have 16GB ram, and I rarely use more than 6-7.
Though if I'm doing FAE or 3d rendering then I easily use all 16 GB., so that alone make it worth it. Besides, ram is cheap anyways.
