I have a plan to get a free (for me) copy of Windows 10.

I'm going to install a personal HDD into my workstation at work and ask computer services to reinstall their volume license copy of Windows 7. Then I'll bring that HDD home, install it in my PC, and update to Windows 10.

Are there any issues with this? Will Windows 7 say the license is no longer valid after literally all of the hardware has changed? Is Windows 10 more lenient? Would it save trouble to install Windows 10 before moving the HDD to my PC?

Just pirate some w7 iso, install it on your computer, activate it and download the w10 update tool from MS webpage.

It works, its my case. I did it like 2 weeks ago, isos and loader are still out there on some torrent site in the first google results (cant remember wich one exactly tho)
