So I learned Java, made a few Minecraft stuff, and now I'm bored of it. Is there really anything else to do? I'm thinking of moving on to R and C# to get into financial/banking programming.
learn a proper language like c++ you fucking babby

I am coming off of several years using C#, probably moving into JS. It is widely viewed as a dying language, albeit with a long tail.

So what are financial/banking languages?

Java
>>55621925
You realize Java is literally almost the same as C#, right?
>>55623573
Java java java. I would rather leave the industry. C# is syntactically similar but the tools are not as clunky. Although they are getting worse thanks to offshore development of visual studio 2012+.

how did you learn Java OP? I'm looking to get into it? Recommend some tuts or whatever

Why not Python?

>>55623573
check out sentdex on youtube, he has a lot of python stuff regarding trading and shit, never watched any because I don't care about that so I don't know how good it is

Sadly there are fewer jobs for Python. It is proven to have fewer bugs per 1000 lines but the work is not there to the same degree. I also feel comfortable without the whole FIOC debacle but I would suck it up if there was work there.

Alright, thanks sir.
